I am very curious to know what you think. If you consider three fruits, an apple, a banana and a pear. Which according to will rot faster than the other when left in an open place and also why?

if you pick all 3 ripe, banana and pear will rot first, apples can stay fresh for days. I haven't seen ripe bananas (really ripe, not shelf ripe) but pears can stay fresh for a day or two easily (though there is one type of pear that doesn't stay fresh long at all, i only saw it in Ukraine though)

There is a protection wax on the surface of apples and pears from supermarket, so a banana will rot faster than the other two. Naturally what will happen? I cannot give the answer.

apples have waxy cover naturally, they don't even need to be covered with extra layer of wax.

I live in India and we don't really buy a lot fruit from the supermarkets. I didn't know about the protection wax. Thanks for responding.

It's banana that rot faster compared to the three. I think apples will last longer than pears and pears last longer than bananas. Ripe bananas definitely don't last long, I think maximum around three days or so. I can't explain why, it just that bananas are pretty common here so we have them a lot. But I am not confident enough about the pears and apples.
