Do you come across any kids that you know are having a Facebook account? All my three nephew and niece have even more than one Facebook accounts respectively. They come to add me at Facebook and I get to know this a while ago.
Some of the friends I know have create Facebook accounts for their children too. Note! The children I mentioned here are below 12 years whereby they are still a school students.
Why and how they get a Facebook account where they are under age.
Do you know why the children are crazy about having a Facebook account?

yes there are many I know that are still kids that have a facebook account, usually they are created for them, by parents or older siblings. I don't see any reason why this should be a major concern, if the parents are able to monitor this accounts (in a sense) and are able to teach the children the proper usage of such sites and if the friends added to these accounts are usually relatives and close friends that will not take advantage of the children.

Hello Chaime,
It is true, The parents need to keep 2 eyes on the kids and monitor their kids. I can see some of the parents I know just go create the Facebook account and thought that the kids only play games... But they never aware that the kids get to know some other adults friends at the games applications. They can add each others, chat to each others and we don't know what they want to do next...
See, they are making friends with someone they don't know well, or they even don't know each other at all. Who know what will this NEW friends do to the kids...

Hello Ruzzel016,
Thanks for sharing here.
Help! My niece and nephews all here are addicting to Facebook games. They like to use Facebook application to play some games such as Pet Society, Farm Town, Farm Ville, Restaurant City and many more.
When come to play games, they are experts. They can play very well. They even like to use the applications to try some quiz.
Facebook now is the IN thing and it is not just only for high school students but primary school kids are going to catch the trend too.
You think you will help your child to sign up for a Facebook account ?

i see no problem with it, there are privacey options that can protect them, as well as it is a good way for them to find family and stay in touch
we have one for my granddaughter and she is only a lil over a year old

Hello Preciouz,
Yeah, no problem for the kids to have Facebook as they can always choose the privacy option and only for those who had added can view all the content. But any how I think the minimum age to join facebook is 17 years old?
My niece and niece want to get the Facebook account as they want to use the game applications. They are addicted to play games. Sometimes they play until they lost themselves. This is what I am worry.

It's kinda weird - but Facebook is the IN THING for all ages. I know adults ( my parent's age) that are just getting into it and loving it! They can get in touch with people they went to school with and haven't seen in years. My generation is the generation that pretty much have been on facebook since it was open. So I'm still in touch with lots of my college friends and have found high school/elementary school friends on there too. Now it seems even kids in the elementary schools are getting Facebook accounts.
I think I liked it better when you had to have a college network. But then again I guess not everyone could be a member if they hadn't gone to college. It did keep the younger kiddos out though. I really have mixed feelings. On one hand I don't think these kiddos should have such an obsession with it at a young age but on the other hand it's a great way for them to keep in touch with family they may not see often. I know a few family members (cousins) that have facebook accounts that their parent's helped them sign up for because they're under 13. I just hope that the parents are monitoring their children and who they add to their friends list!

oh vingyan!! in order to know a person age, what needs is just change the year of birth! Therefore, no matter what age, the person can still have the account as long as the year of birth is over 18 years old..
the concern we have is, these below age children are being expose to internet, and if these children are being carefully watched on what they surf on the net.
I think nowadays social networking site is one of the attraction not just for kids and even adults. We have even got the addiction in the site of their games.. I am in the opinion if the child is being guided correctly, no harm for them to have the exposure of the internet and social networking site.

Hello Uchihaseymour,
Yeah, you are right, they want to play pet society! I don't know why some many people go for pet society until crazy! If you think pet society is a childish game, then you are wrong! Many friends of mine are playing pet society too.
They enjoy feeding the pet, buy food for the pet, and even visit their friends' pets.
Do you know that you can even use real money to buy things for the pet which you can pay via pay pal.

i think this comes down to parents monitoring what their children do on their computers, laptops or mobile phones. If they are under 12 years old , they should be safeguarded against all risks. Facebook can be very anonymous and they could be swapping information about themselves with unsuitable adults. i have a Facebook account and find a bit boring now, but it is so easy to get hundreds of 'friends'. And in most cases , you have no idea who they really are. But i think all these social sites, like twitter , bebo and Facebook really pander to the younger generations imagination.

although facebook prohibits kids of this age having an account it is but possible for children to have one since cyberspace is free for everyone. i even thought of having one for my toddler as early as now. sort of replace that old photo album although we have one...i think the games there (tried one for myself and it is good) entices them. besides, i think anyone, who has a normal social appetite would not find facebook as not likeable (and i think this sans age). as for the danger this might pose this is where the parenting skills of parents are put to the test. whether they equipped their children with morals or just went on working and working and working and sort of just brought them in this world. although the kid himself has the final say on what he does it is how one changes after a mistake that the values their parents instilled in them shine through. might as well stop writing. am getting far already .

I have noticed that there are a lot more children on there now even my children are on there.I do not think it is a good thing as one of my sons was talking to a man of 50 the other day that added my son as a friend which was a bit worrying.I made my son delete him only to find out that he had also added a few of my sons friends so i left a message to my sons friends to delete the man and they have. The children like to play games against each other i think that is the latest faze of them being on there.
