I was just casually browsing through the net, minding my own business - trying to find some pictures for things and i discovered two sites...

Ok, now i know they are both outdated BUT whats in the articles STILL applies this year. And there's probably some of you looking at this thread thinking 'tut, another big girl raving equalist'... etc etc. Sling the insults cos A,) i dont care, and B.) Don't judge me based on what you let people manipulate to think.
..Now down to the real issue. I think the girl in the first link looks gorgeous- so she has a spare tire and bigger legs - does she ACTUALLY look ugly? No - she won a beauty pagent. I'm 17, yes im a plus sized girl- Ya know what? no, i dont honestly like it sometimes cos i keep getting banged into my head about how bad big girls look - or how being a big girl means ill never have a guy. So, for the sake of showing some damn courage I'm a size 16, im short, im 17.
Please someone shed some understanding for me - why do people show so much prejudice when a.)it's not their bodies - so why judge? and b.) why do people go out of their way to make others feel bad when lets face it - it's skin!
So, just to stop any of the predicted 'fat people are lazy/greedy/smelly etc etc.'

I think that to a large extent confidence can allow you to carry your weight well, but most people of any size aren't really all that self-confident. It's easy for me to say, being male and well past the age of caring what people think of my size. Nevertheless, I tend to agree with you, that unless there are real health issues (and I have recently worked very hard to remove 40 lbs for health reasons), if you are happy with how you feel and look, then ignore the buggers. Particularly ignore the weight loss Nazis like the snake above my response (I have had a run-in with hissy over this very issue).
