I don't like tatoos-especially on young people. The reason is as they get older-what if they do not like the permanent display they have on their skin? And when they cover their whole arms or chests or backs,I think a lot of them look ugly.
My daughter has a tatoo on her leg that was supposed to be very small-by the time it was done it's a good 6-8 inches tall and she'd like to have it taken off. That is expensive.

Was your daughter's tattoo well thought out and planned by her? When I first came up with the idea for my tattoo, I waited two and a half years before taking any action on it, to make certain I absolutely wanted it. Although I am only 17, I know it is one that I will never regret nor want removed. In my opinion it is beautiful and an expression of myself.

Actually, she thought she had it all planned out but I think the man that did it misunderstood her and by the time she realized it,it was too late. My daughter in law has a small tatoo on her shoulder that is just beautiful,on the other hand my son in law has them all over his hands and arms, put there while he was very young, that he is dissatisfied with now.

Personally, I love tattoos. With the right idea and artist, they can be beautiful, evoking, and a work of art. I do however believe that tattoos should be well thought out and not something done spontaneously. As long as they are tasteful and something you are positive you will not regret later in life, I say go for it.

I wouldn´t tatoo my body, but then I´m 64 years old. I have seen horrible tatoos (for the most part) and one or two, very small ones, that I like.
I don´t know what I would have done if I were young now. I will not say I wouldn´t do it. I wore mini skirts at the time (my mom said that they were indecent), made my own papier maché earrings with flowers and listened to rock instead of studying. I guess it´s part of growing up.
What I don´t like much about tatooing and piercing now is that you can´t go back later. I don´t wear mini skirts now but you can´t erase a tatoo.
Happy posting!

In todays generation having tattoo is accepted but, once you have those it is much harder for you to find job especially in medical profession and you are no longer allowed to donate blood.
skin disease? hmmmm... tattooing your self is like exposing your self in infection and virus(AIDS). I saw tattoo shops who doesn't follow safety codes. Most of their apparatus is unsterilized, untidy place and some artist are not wearing gloves while doing the procedure.

I do not like tatoos on my body. I believe my body is my temple and it should remain pure and clean. If getting a tattoo its is going to be there for life. When you want to remove it. This will not make your skin look good. Worst than wrinkle. I don't think you can get a disease from tatoo. Maybe the needle if it is not clean.Happy lotting.

I always wanted to have a butterfly tattoo at my shouder back but I can't. LOL. I'm amazed with tattoo designs, specially with the intricate designs they are like a piece of art. Though for sure it will be a bit painful and risky its kinda scary too. According to medical studies it may cause some kind of disease like on the skin or worse than having a simple rashes you may get hiv because you don't know if the needle they use was well sterile.

I don't like tattoos on myself (including the pain that you mentioned) and I don't appreciate seeing lots of them on other people. They make you look like a gangster or an ex-con or something. However, I don't mind looking at a small tattoo on somebody if it is tastefully done like a small butterfly or a flower. I guess it is a matter of personal taste.
