i'm sorry if this question has been asked before. but i'm just really curious about this issue. because i have seen some discussion and there talking about some interesting stuff and i want to respond but i keep thinking if i respond will this discussion get deleted? because i think when a discussion gets deleted and you answer the question your earnings go down and your amount of post go down. so i ask once again do you have to write a question if you write a discussion? because i rather not....i think it would be kind of fun to make it as a blog kind of thing sometimes

don't have to be a question. Questions get good responses. You can discuss anything from blowing off steam to guess what happened today.

You really don't ask a question, it's more your asking for an opinion! You want to give the responder a chance to write, that's the point! If you say what is your shoe size? This doesn't give the person much room to write a lengthy response. If you say I wear a size 9 shoe and I think I have small feet, what size is your foot? Do you think you have big or small feet for your size? Why is that?. Now you give the person more room to respond to your post! You should always think about this before you post a discussion! Good luck! They don't delete discussions for just asking a question! tdemex

Well, if you make a blog-type post as the opener for a discussion, what will you expect others to do with that? Will you want them to comment on what you've written? Give opinions on your writing style or ability? Give their thoughts on the subject matter that you've chosen to write about? Without including a question, it becomes more difficult for other members to join in your discussion and, ultimately, that's what you want them to do. Asking a question simply tells everyone your intention in creating your discussion and provides a statement about what you expect in return. Ask and ye shall receive kind of thing :)
