How generous are you about sharing your knowledge and experience with others?

I've met people who for some unknown reason, will not share things like their recipes, how to apply for a job where they work, where they brought that new outfit, how to use or operate equipment and the list goes on and on. I guess some folks rather go to their grave not helping anyone. Why? I will share whatever knowledge I can give a person out of the kindness of my heart. There are exceptions to the rule of sharing information and I understand that and don't have a problem with it.

Well I'm open to any kind (non personal type) of sharing with anyone. I am happy if I can help them. Helping each other is one of many ways to survive in this world. I am willing to teach people what I can, be it recipes, computer and another how tos. Today we help them who knows tomorrow we are the ones who need help. How can you expect someone to help you if you're not being helpful yourself?
Cheers!

Iam very generous about sharing knowledge and experience with others. If the once that had the knowlegde in the first place didn't share it with us, we wouldn't be possessed it.That's why we had teachers at school.Anyway those people that don't won't to share most of that i know are mainly reasons of not wanting other people to be better than them if they know it and you don't then he/she would be the only one needed always and for example at work my ex-boss was intimidated by the knowlegde i had and thought that i wanted to take his place
cheers!

In fact I am quite okay with sharing my knowledge and information on what I know. I believe that sharing it to others makes yourself even better every time.
Be generous, share your knowledge if it's true and every time you share it, you become better and better. That's my opinion.

hi yparson,
i am so generous in sharing my knowledge, skills and experiences with others. actually aside from my regular job i also venture in varied consultancy jobs particularly conducting trainings.
it's very fulfilling.
empowerment is the key-------- that i created an impact among the people i deal and work with.

If I am in the middle of writing a book, I might not tell you what it is about, if I think you may be quicker than me and steal the idea. LOL But other than that, I am eager to help others.
To be honest with you, I think sharing with others is how I got to where I am at today. The company that I used to work for, even sent new managers to me to train. They didn't pay me extra or anything, but I guess word just got around that I did things a little different. So the Regional Managers, would send me their managers in training. Even managers from different states, would end up visiting me from time to time, just to get tips or share ideas.
I really liked working with these other managers, because it seemed like I always learned something from them as well!

It's really sad that some people knowledgeable and experienced keep these good things they have or have possessed to themselves. My boss once said to us that while you have something to share, share it. after all, it will go to waste if nobody will benefit from it. and it won't be appreciated. Personally, I salute those who share to others. It will make this world a better place to live in if that would be the case.

I always share my knowledge with others & try to help them in the best possible way. After all we all will die one day & I think we should do something & not just live & die like animals. So the best thing I could do is to help others & if I keep the knowledge to my self it won't get doubled nor if I share it with others it will be halved. So I always prefer to share my knowledge & help others.
Happy Lotting

Anyone who would not help his fellow human, is doing nothing to make the world a better place. There are many that don't help anyone anytime, but expect you to help them whenever they need it though.

each of us is unique as there are people who are selfish with their knowledge and still others who are generous about it.
from an early retirement from a previous employment, i took up another job which i do until the present. it is from this particular employment that i see varied personalities and work habits.
i still very well remember (and will never forget) how an employee answered the head of office when asked to train me (i took over her job). she outrightly told the boss (within a hearing distance from me), that when she was taken in, nobody trained her and that, she will try if she can do it two days after. she never came back to do it. it was a sad experience and i really felt bad but that experience gave me the challenge to learn the job on my own which, humility aside, was quite an easy and quick thing to do. that experience warned me to be wary of different personalities. i later learned that most, if not all, people dislike her for her selfishness in sharing her knowledge of the job and for her unending need of recognition for her work all the time.
i very much like to share what i learn to apprentices, students who are on OJT (on-the-job training), and new employees. it is always a happy feeling having to impart what i learn from school and from the long working experience.

This is kind of odd. I'm an open book and anything I like I will share with anyone willing to listen. I like to promote things that work out for me like this site is one of those things I will promote to anyone willing to listen. Maybe its a cultural thing or maybe they just dont want you to take their stuff which in my opinion is a little selfish but to all his own I suppose.
