I am having a really hard time in my College Algebra class right now. It's so frusterating. I use to be okay at math but I just can not stand it and I have two more math classes after this I have to take next semester. ughhhhhh It makes me want to just give up sometimes and throw in the towel but I know I can't do that.
So what about you what subjects make you want to give up? If your not in school which did you not like when you were in school?

I will have (college) Algebra next semester and Statistics next fall. I do NOT look forward to those classes. I am not good at Algebra and I am worried that those classes will bring my A average down. I hope to graduate Summa c-u-m Laude, but I am afraid math will kill that dream.
Do you know any students in that class that are good at it that you could have help you? Become that person's "best friend" for the semester.;-)
Mylot says the word c-u-m violates myLot's terms of use, so I had to add some dashes to it, sorry. Too bad such an honorary title has an offensive word in it.

Oh, it was definitely Algebra. In high school, and then in college. I hate algebra. College Algebra was particularly difficult for me, and I think for the others in that particular class. The teacher was a math whiz, so if we didn't understand anything, she wouldn't stop to explain, she'd just keep going.

I HATE MATH!!!!!!
i always have.
i hate numbers in general.
i think crap like Algebra is sooo stupid.
all we need to learn is basic math-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. you DON'T need all of that other rubbish to survive in life.

I love love love math. I was a math concentrate in college. I never really liked history though. I found it to be repetitive and boring. Other than that I really liked school.

When i was in High School i absoluted hated Calculus. I never ever ever ever ever understood it and i almost failed it. It is so complex and i hated it the most out of all the classes I had to take. I was in accelerated classes and man were they tough.

I hate Calculus. That is the subject which I cannot understand and where will I use it for. Thinking of the equations just gives me headaches and I think I didn't understand nor do I remember a single topic on that subject. It's good that I am no engineer and I do not have to live my life with calculus and its equations.

It definitly was maths or anything scientifical for me back in the days I used to attend school. I'm still wondering whether it's pathological or not, the fact that the people teaching these subjects are the "greyest" I've ever met in my life. Sure as hell isn't just a coincidence in the least.

In my school i too never liked maths, i used to keep failing in the subject but during coaching i used to score the best marks in maths. In the twelfth standard i studied maths by myself and passed. When i was doing the first two years of graduation i got less marks in the first semester but then with coaching i made up all the marks and passed. When i was doing my final year graduation there was a paper which would not get in my mind and it would be very boring for me to study but then with proper notes i cleared the paper.

Maths.
Well, "General Advanced Maths", so to call them... I'm not really sure what I would call them although I did had something named "Discrete maths" which I also didn't enjoyed the least.
I don't know, I plain and simply failed at Maths classed. Low, very low grades constantly ever since my 7th year in school. I simply couldn't make heads or tails of what the teachers were trying to explain, and I guess that one of the main reasons was that usually they are teaching things that lack on practical application. These are formulas, calculations and equations that you learn that have no practical purpose in life and I think that makes harder to understand all of it.
Although, I was pretty much top of the class when it came to either Commercial Techniques or Physics, where maths of both more simple and complex types were applied. Maybe because what were were being taught here were things that would be used in real life... perhaps we wouldn't be looking too attentively at the way some physic calculations are applied in real life, but, if you would want to you could do these calculus to be sure of certain things.

Trigonometry! I have never been upset with anything in school except this subject. I know it is not good to hear, but I mainly hated it because of my professor. It's not like I'm blaming her or something. I just think that her kind of teaching doesn't suit me at all. Maybe I will learn to love Trigonometry again if there is a chance that I will encounter a good mentor who will be patient enough to teach the basics, not like my professor.

I went all the way to Statistics, and I still hated Math. Math and science were my two worst subjects. Although I respect people who can solve Math problems and use science for everything, I was never good at any of these subjects.

I used to hate algebra too when I was in my high school years. But when I get into college, thats the time I started to love my algebra. For the reason that I get a good score. And I understand it already.

I have a hard time learning that language and i curse that subject because that cause me a big turn of events on my life. It cause me too much that i can't afford to restore my life. Now that i left my home country and leaving in US I still having a hard time using the english language. I will never like this subject for the rest of my life even i writing an english comments

Off course it was maths. Not because I don't understand it. But because my father's inhuman thrashing when I mistaken one. I even forget the correct one which I know. I was very unfortunate. But hope others don't have the same fate.
