I still do not have the family of my own. As of now, I am currently living with my parents and siblings. After I graduated, I looked for a job and as of now, I am presently teaching in a private school. Everytime I will have my salary, I give it all to my mom. She is the one budgeting it. She spends it on paying our bills like electricity, water and internet. Some of my salary goes to foods and some to my youngest sister who is still studying in college. Whenever some of my co-teachers will ask me what I am doing with my salary, I tell them that I am giving it all to my mom. They always ended up with a question on their face. They asked me how about my own expenses. I just tell them that my mom is not that selfish in me. She gives me money if I need to buy something or wants to buy something. In fact by next year, I want to study again while having my job and I know that my mom will understand it and support me with my expenses.
How about you? Where did you spent your earnings or to whom you spend it? Have a nice day to each one of us and happy mylotting as well

Hi Annierose,
When I was still single, I work for myself and my income is used to support myself. No more money from parents. It is more than enough to spend it for myself and I will save some of my money too.
When I was back to my hometown, I will buy presents for my family members using my hard work money.I will also treat them for a meal.
After I married,I quited my job. and no more income for myself. I have to fully depend on my husband .

Thats pretty genorous of you to give your mum your whole salary, i give my mum my $200 fortnightly that i recieve for being under the age of 18, and im currently unemployed so it is sort of hard to earn money for my hobbies that i need; gym, hanging out with mates, etc. I admire you.

Well, considering I am Married, and we just recently sold our Condo and bought a New house, most of my Salary helps go towards the other Bills and also Groceries, etc. From time to time we have some left over that we can use on other things, or set some aside for things such as Vacations, but for the most part it just takes a lot of what we make to live. I feel to be able to keep on top of the Bills is one of the best things I can do.

I am thinking that we are very different in the states than in your country. I am a single mom. I raised 4 children and I did not take any of the money they earned until they were out of school. Even then if they stayed with me ...room and board was...is very minimal. my 22 yr old just moved in with me and I don't charge her. She does help out but I just want to see her do good in her life. I've never had any of my girls work and hand over their earnings to me. My goal as a mom has always been to teach them to be independent.

As long as you mother keeps your salary for you on a trustee basis, it is okay. Since she pays for all your overheads as well as for your sister's education, it is a good arrangement. Moreover, you may need the money for your continued education. Until such time, let you money be kept by your mother. As for the reaction in your office to your answer, just let it be.

Hi annierose... In my case, I do spend my salary differently since I am far away from my family. I am renting a room. And whenever I receive my salary, I spend it by myself... hihihihi. Since I'm alone, I pay everything. This includes the room rent, electricity, food expenses and fare allowance. I don't know how to budget this things but I'm lucky to pay everything inspite of my innocence in budgetting. weeee... and don't forget to have some savings for your future. That's all. Have a great day ahead!!!! Happy myLotting!! ^_^

all my salary goes to our daily needs. Just like with you i am living with my younger siblings and i am the one who is feeding them and sometimes help them with their tuition in school. I can't even afford to buy my personal needs because my salary is just enough for our food and bills.

Most single children will only give part of their earnings to their moms like what I did when I was still living with my parents. Maybe it is partly because my mom trained us early on how to budget our earnings.
Since I do the budgeting in our house, it is my husband who gives me his earnings. The biggest slice of our spending goes to food and health expenses like vitamins and supplements. We are fortunate not to pay rent otherwise it would have taken a large chunk off our finances.

I spend my complete salary on myself & on my girlfriend. Some times I go out for party with my friends where the treat will be from my side. However this happens only once or twice a month or otherwise I spend it on myself, or buying household items & on my girlfriend. After all my motto is 'Live life, Live the moment'
Happy Lotting

Most of my salaries go to our daily expenses. Of course I would say it goes to my other half and son. Although my husband has got a work too, we help each other with expenses and savings. We are saving for our future. We also plan to have another baby so we have another one to be prepared for financially. I also help my parents from time to time. Good thing all of my siblings have their own families and works too.

I'm the youngest in our family and both my brother and sister have their own families already. I'm the one who's supporting my dad. Most of my salary are spent on our daily needs.I allotted part of my salary on my dads medicines. I'm the one paying all our bills..electricity,internet,water,cable bills etc. It is hard most of the time but with God's grace I were able to manage everything and able to pay all of it. I save the rest for future needs or invest it to our small family business. :)
