If I won the lotto or a big sum of money I know exactly what I would do. I would buy lots of land with like five reasonable size houses on it so all my family could live near each other. If I had any extra money I would buy a car too.

If, and only if, I get the chance to win a large sum of money, I would like to have a trip around the world first (for discernment and soul-searching, by myself), buy my dream house, then buy a car. I'll make sure my mom will quit her job and just stay at home, so I can work in place of her. Of course, I would have keep our savings for the future, and I will help out my other relatives. And I would donate in charity and in church too.

depends on how much I won lol. I would definitely buy a nice and modest house and decorate it...then I will put some money aside so I can go back to school for another degree and money for my bf to go to school...then I would get him a car and me a new car and then put the rest of the money in the bank...and if I won over $2 million I probably would give my brother and sister each 10k and help my parents out a little bit as well.

It's an interesting question,I think. And I believe that many people want to have the chance. If I were the luckily guy,I will use the money mostly like you.But no matter how much money there are,if we just use it buy the things we enjoy,it isn't a good way. When we have a chance to do something, think twice first!

good ideas and you know your priority unlike other who act like one day millionaire. before they know they already penniless for spending their money without thinking their first priority.donating or sharing to your choice of charity is good ideas to help other people who are in need. they would surely appreciate you for thinking about their welfare and for having a kind heart.

Well....my mom is 81; I want to give her a good life; so I would ensure her home is safe, up to date and accessible to her; She has talked about seeing her siblings in the Caribbean and U.K. I will make sure she goes and have a good time. Then have some cash for whatever she needs.
Then, my kids; I would sit them down and ask them honestly what they want. They are close to fleeing the coop so I'd make them take their time, break them off something so they could live on and more than likely, they will move on.
Then with me, I would think on my options and run from there.

What I would do if I won a lotto or sweepstakes is pay my parents bills off and give them a trip to Puerto Rico where they met some 53 years ago. I would pay my bills and my daughters bills off. Give to charities like St. Jude for Children, Cancer Research, Parkinson Research and Animal Rescue. Then move to Puerto Rico so I can be with the man I love and live happily ever after.

If I were to win a large amount of money I would be totally selfish. I would give each of my children some, a few bucks to some friends and the rest I would use to buy a private island with a nice house. Hire some people to take care of the day to day stuff and I would laze around on the beach and swim and sun and write and read everyday. If my friends wanted to come and visit I would even pay for them to come, but I would never leave my island again and I would never, ever go to another Walmart as long as I lived.

hi amyson,
i never buy lottery ticket,so wining a lottery or sweeptake is unlikely to happen to me.:)
but if one day it happend to me,firstly,i will pay off my loan for purchasing my new house, buy a car, give birth to a baby, give my parents a mount of money to let them live a happy life in future.
then,i will save half of the money in my bank acount to make sure i live a happy life in future.
last,i will invest the left money to open a studio, i will employ a frofessional manager to manage the studio.

If I won the lottery, I would buy a mountain somewhere and build a completely self-sustaining home, garden, play with the pets and take pictures. Then, I would set up a foundation and give out grants from the interest!

wow that is a unique ideas and imagining buying your own mountain. you could anything you want you could even name it after you. that is a good heritage. and being a philanthropist to support the organization would benefit the most. you learn to share your blessing and many would appreciate you for sharing. the people who would receive would fully thankful for yours support.

If you win the lotto the best thing to do would be to put the money in a high interest account and only spend the interest you make from your winnings that way you would not end up like every other lotto winner who cries about haw there money was gone so quickly. If you have a 6% interest rate and you put a million dollars in the account you would have $60,000 a year to spend without ever spending a dime of your original winnings so imagine if you won a multi-million dollar lotto then you would never have to work again but you also would not have to worry about running out of money as long as you never spend more than the amount you are making in interest.

yes that is a good ideas and the proper way to make sure the money is safe and knowing your first priorities makes it easy to know to spend the money wisely. i also know some people who treat their friends extravagant without thinking their future and spend endlessness in some unimportant things before they know they are broke.like living like a one day millionaire. so it is important to know the limitation and only spend the money to paid the obligation and mostly spend wisely.

i would sell my townhouse and get a home that is not attached to any others. i would have a pool and a jacuzzi and i would have a huge kitchen so i could have friends and family over for parties. i would treat myself to a massage and a manicure every week and i would get my hair professionally colored instead of doing it myself. i would put money away for college for my son and i would get him something he has been wanting. i would stock the house with food and get new furniture as ours is 12 years old and not in good condition. i would also get a new car as mine is 9 years old and i keep having to get it repaired.

oh that nice to give your self a treat first and family and friends to share your blessing. that is a good preparation the future of your children should matter the most. it is nice to spend on things which you have not yet own and buy if when you have all the money to make sure it makes you feel happy.

I will save 30% of the money in bank accounts.I will invest 30% in business or stocks.I will give 15% to my family and 15% to church.I will spend 10% on myself.I want to make the money grow and save myself so in the future,I have money that I can use in case of emergency.

If I won the lottery, I would move to another city, buy a house (nothing fancy, just something comfortable and affordable) and then stick it all in a savings account without telling anyone besides my parents ;)
