Should MyLot Fix A Limit To The Number Of New Discussions Per Day?

I can see some mylotters starting discussions on many topics simulteneously. While some get a few responses, others are almost completely ignored with no responses atall. Should quantity of discussions take precedence over quality? Wouldnt it be better if one or maximum two topics are started per day and then discussed thread bare? Also it becomes difficult to reply to each response if we start too many topics.

hi preet .. over the past month i have seen people starting topics which are very lame .. but then it gets more response that mine .. people should be allowed to start discussion as they wish, as it gives us more selection to respond after all there are more than 184k members here and not all discussion are 'solid' sometimes i do start a few discussion at times because the idea seem to be flowing and flowing during those moments .. ha ha ha sometimes, when we are in the mids of another discussion we seem to start another one as it triggers our interst in that topic cheers

What kind of topic do you usually start? What is a lame topic for you? Some topics with just an ordinary feel in it can sometimes generate more response than topics with specialization because I think most of mylot members are housewives and students. There are professional people here but you can only get their attention if you have the same specialization or interest. I can say that majority here are housewives because mylot provides a passive income and most of the time the people with so much time in their hands are them.

hi hex .. what makes you think that all housewives and students start lame discussions .. you have not been here long dear to know how smart and intelligent are housewifes ... their discussion does not be intelligent but it needs a basis ... when someone starts a discussion like "what is your favourite colour ?" and puts a stop at that without any discription or their own choice .. is what i call lame .. stay here longer and you will find beautiful discussions ... by your so called housewifes and students cheers

I think because of turn over rates here and the ratio of new users thinking they're going to quit their day job that there should be something. Like you can't post any discussions until you have had 100 responses. I think then a person would really get a feel for it here and another that mylot wouldn't be so clogged down with the onliners as discussions.

You don´t have to reply to anything to don´t want to. And you can post whatever you want, unless it´s against the rules. I´m sure mylot takes care of giving diferent earnings to a good post than to a bad one. And noone can know beforeand if a post will me interesting for the rest or not. Even our interests are not the same so we can´t see all the discusions started on one day. Have a nice day!

Hi preethaanju! I personally think there's no need to limit one's number of discussions in a day because it cannot be abused anyway. One has to think of quality discussion topics and not just any topic. As long as it passes MyLot's guidelines and is not considered spam, then good for the discussion starter because MyLot will not delete the topic. MyLot always monitors so a lot of pointless topics are deleted as soon as they are posted. There's really no limit on one's imagination and he can always come up with quality discussions not just once in a day so MyLot encourages everyone to just post them. It's up to the other members to choose which discussions to reply to and which ones to ignore based on individual preferences and interests.

well i dont htink theres shoould be any restrictions like that ... and there is not restriction like that right now and that indeed is the biggest attraction of mylot..people are allowed to post any number of posts and discussions and this gives them the freedomt o input all their thoughts and give thjem a feeling that they would earn more by posting more and thus will inturn motivate them to actively participate in mylot

I think that the owners here at myLot, gives free reign to any discussion that is started. Only if they flout the rules will they be deleted. I think it is OK to start many discussions if you want to because I think the other members will judge whether or not a discussion is going to be a good one or not. If there are no responses, then that will indicate the discussion is not of good quality and the person who started will have to learn this lesson by starting another putting more into it. I would say quality survives naturally. If quantity is also good quality, then that will do well. To me, I think the rules as they are inspire me to work harder at my responses. I don't start many discussions, as most of my time goes into responding. I aim for quality as best I can, but at times, I think maybe I tend to be a bit long-winded sometimes in saying what I want to say.. - Derek

Hi, you must just feel free to start what post you want, how many you want, My lot is a place where peoples must feel free to start, answer or just show what they feel that is better for them; Peoples here are not to school, and nobody can force them to have more or less ideas...this is idea in this site...to make you feel free to choice what you like...answer, ask questions, post poetry or history if you want...here creativity is very important;here is not math, is literature...we must let s our imagination work; this is my opinion.
