Wouldn't be a harassing experience- confront debtors first thing in the morning....annoying calls from debtors for payment of debt as the day progresses.....still bad threatening remarks from debtors towards the close of the day. When finances are at a severe crunch, these perplexed situations are the order of most days.To add insult to injury if nothing turns up in favor of solving financial crisis......the whole life is one of -----

unfortunately, we are back to letting the answering machine answer our calls...
not so much the bill collectors as the telemarketers.
we're even on the do not call list, and well, it doesn't matter, they still keep calling!
it hurts for me to walk, so well, I find senseless phone calls really quite irrating....to the point where I am doing them a favor by not answering their call!
I mean, more than likely they are just gonna get a smart arsed me on the other end, trying to sell them a slightly damaged foot as they try to sell me whatever they are trying to sell, or something just as insane! but, one way or another, I will get the point across to them, it was painful for me to answer your call, now, well, I am gonna have fun with ya till you hang up!!

I wake up to harassing debtors every morning. I paid off most of my credit, and they are still harassing me. I am so sick and tired of these people calling me back and forth, complaining to me that I need to pay off my bills. I have paid off the majority of my bills, but heck, I cannot pay off everything at once because I do not have the money.

Get on the internet and put in " Do Not Call resistry" put your phone number in & it will keep them from calling you..It blocks all those calls that you do not want.....I know sometimes we gwt in a bind & get debts but their is a law that they cannot harrasse you,,,,,maybe this will help.....I also have some debts as well....If you send them $5.00 or $10.00 a month they cannot do anything to you....

Glad! I'm going to make it a try.Small sums of money at brief intervals of time so that they cannot initiate any legal implications. Thanks a lot.

Well also i live in Texas , and it has known as a debtors paradise...In Texas they are not allowed to do such things.....I do not know about other states or countries...Here in Texas, you can file charges on creditors for harrassment & they cannot touch your bank account or take any of your wages....That is one good thing about living here......

Unfortunately, sending very small amounts like that won't stop creditors from going to court and getting a judgement. Then they can swoop the entire bank account. So better to play "Lets make a deal" with them, but get it in writing!!

Here on earth we have many trails and sorrows, but cheer up, it is not the end of the world for you. There are many people who are worse off than us but have no avenue to show the world how bitter life is. When I hear somebody say that 'Life is hard," I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?' We might as well face our problems, we can't run fast or far enough to get away from them all.

Hi Sukumur!
Debts? That I am really afraid of and thank God He has given me the grace to get rid of it! I don't have much of that. I only have one loan which is my housing loan and it is not really a burden to me. It would be so embarrassing to be nagged about unpaid debts really
so I really do avoid getting into that trouble by living only within my means.
Have a nice day!

Are you in USA? If so, they are allowed to call at 08:00 until 21:00 your time. Most systems are set to call at least 3 times a week, some of their systems will call more.
You have to look at it both ways. On one side, you owe money and they are just doing their job. Imagine if someone owed you money and didn't pay it back in one or two years? How would that make you feel? I'm sure you would be angry, and want your money back too, right?
On the other hand, as you said, if you don't have the money? Then it gets hard to bay it back. Some good ideas would be to send small payments to them. Anything you can send to them will subtract what you owe.
In addition, there are laws that protect consumers from abusive collection practices. They aren't to yell at you, not to curse at you, etc. That applies to USA, I cannot speak about other countries.

If you have debtors, may I suggest you do not hound your debtors. The feeling can be very terrible and stressful. If you have been harassed by your creditors, make a police report. I guess that will at least ensure your safety. May God bless you.

I hope that you're not the target of debt collectors? I suffered that years ago and it was awful. I had a student loan, went to the school and they took all my money but when I dropped out--I couldn't understand the math of chemistry--they kept the money and I was stuck with the debt. I had also misunderstood what credit cards were all about and had some debt with those, too.
These days I'm mostly debt free except for my house and the loan for refurbishing my bathroom and the siding on my house. I can handle that. I'm working on refinancing the house so that I'll have even lower monthly expenses so I can pay off those loans faster.
I'll never again have debt I can't pay. I pay off my credit cards each month and don't carry a balance. I hope that if you have debt, it gets resolved.

sukumar794 yes it is indeed a horrible harrassing experience
when debtors call and call and call. have been there and done'that
and been down to the depths. now the only way is up to look'at the 'sun and pray to God to help us once more to get onto'our feet.we are not alone as a lot of americans are in debt and out of work'and some are losing homes due to foreclosures and others evicted because of lack of money due to loss of jobs.

Not nice to be hounded by debt collectors, that’s for sure! If that is what you are facing I would suggest contacting your Bank and see if you can apply for a loan to repay all your debts so you have just the one repayment to make otherwise you could contact each one of your creditors and make arrangements with them. A lot of the time whoever you owe money to is happy to wait if you don’t ignore your debt and keep in contact with them.

Collection calls are annoying no matter what time of day they come in. Obviously if one has the money, the bill would have been paid, right? Depending on the consumer laws where you are, you may be able to tell them to contact you only via the mail service. If there are no laws like that, you might have to just leave the phone off the hook unless you are actually using it.

Hello my friend sukumar794 Ji,
Well, to be true, I have never faced such situation and now at teh end of my life I will never get it, as I limit my expenses and remain within length of my bed cover, so taht I do not expose my bare legs outside. Even under great recession period I stood erect on my own legs. May God bless You both and have great time.

I'd say, don't ignore the problem, but once you've told them when the next payment is going in, don't answer their calls until after that date. Voicemail is a wonderful thing, you can turn the ringer off and never even hear the calls come in. Use your cell phone for your personal calls. And if they're calling before 8am or after 9pm, or calling you multiple times every day, even after you've spoken to them, that's against the law. Document, document, document, date, time, what company, who, phone number, etc and then file complaints.

We have gotten a couple of calls from creditors, but it is mostly because we have forgotten to pay a particular bill one month - we used to be very disorganized about paying off debt.
Now we are organized so we don't get phone calls but it is still stressful to have all of this debt. I am determined however to get out of it. It's jsut difficult because we can't be super-frugal - we just don't have the time.

we ourselves are responsible to some extent for such conditions of ours..we should not get in so much debts, which will one day not let you sleep and eat properly...so better think twice that you really need the money or not....before taking loans from anywhere.
