Education is Opportunity

On the way to the office this morning, while listening to my favorite fm radio station, their slogan for their new contest really caught my attention, and it goes like this "Education is OPPORTUNITY, Education is Hope". I do not have any problem with the last three words, what bothers me is the first three words, especially the word "OPPORTUNITY". If education is hope, then hope is only for those who were given the "OPPORTUNITY" of education. I am a mother of two kids, my daughter is now in grade 3, and yes indeed she was lucky to have the "OPPORTUNITY" to go to a private school. It is now my job to instill in her very young mind how lucky she was/is for having the privilege of going to school, for the sole reason that other children wasn't given this kind of "OPPORTUNITY". You might be wondering why all the word "OPPORTUNITY" is written in capital letters, this is simply because it really bothers me, and I do want to bother you as well. I am Human, we are Human, and as a human being we have this so called " Human Rights", and if I'm not mistaken(surely I'm not!) it is clearly written under this Rights that EDUCATION IS A RIGHT!, yes, despite the fact that now a days it becomes an opportunity only to those who can afford it , I still believed that it must and should be accessible to anyone who is willing to claim it.

Education is, indeed, an essential human right and the key to a healthy mind and soul, but I don't think people are entirely aware of its benefits for both the individual and the society. I believe that the creators of the slogan used the word 'opportunity' to show people the importance of education and how not claiming it at the right time will certainly affect their children in a negative way. From my point of view, the term has a positive meaning.

I think we it's should be taken as granted to have the righto go to school. It's the right granted by god. Only if we are educated, then we have a certain degree of knowledge, so we can communicate well with others, and we have a skill masterd ,we can have a nice job when we grow up.We can take care of ourselves and our family, then we can contribute to our country and to then world's progress at large.
