Psychological problems

I have a close relaive who, I THINK, has something wrong, sometimes he's a bit weird, but I can say he doesn't have autism or any other common problems like that even though he seems to fail in school and do some things that are quite unimaginable for a child(he's like 12 or 13), but mind you, he IS smart so I don't think he has something like that. Does anyone know anything about this?
