I probably learned how to cook around the age of 10 maybe, along with my brother. My mother always felt that we should both learn how to cook to be self reliant and take care of ourselves, plus she didn't want my bother to grow out to be the stereotypical hopeless male in the kitchen that can't take care of himself. Today I have to say we're both food "gourmands" and really enjoy making fabulous gourmet meals and sharing them with family & friends. The only gripe I will say I've always have is that I have a tendency to make exotic, foreign dishes which my family won't eat -too foreign for them I suppose. I would love to be able to make more Asian and Indian dishes too, though I'm always amazed at how many ingredients go into those dishes!! It would be an expensive grocery shopping list!

I really like to eat. Or let me say love to eat. But I do not know how to cook before. I only know how to cook eggs.
I learned how to cook was when I was already married. I was 23 years old that time.

I was taught by my grandma. I watched her cook and helped her when I could. Started cooking meals on my own when i was 19. i did it to help out around the house and during holidays.I have fun cooking, but hate it when something goes wrong.

I learned to cook when I was about 22 and during that time I lived in New York. During winter, I have to learn to cook from my housemates because sometimes it was so cold out there . That was the time I started to learn to cook and from then on, I got an interest in cooking.

I learned how to cook at the age of 10. My mother works abroad and our dad is the one who cooks for us by then. I m really eager to learn and so always watch my father doing his cooking. And one time, I cooked the vegetables recipe which we love in the house. It was good i must admit. But i seldom cook now.

I learned at an early age to cook & i don't understand any mother that doesn't teach their daughters to cook. My mother worked so my sister & i would have supper ready when my parents got home from work. I think everyone needs to know how. both my sons can cook & i think that's very good that they know how.

I remember baking my first cake at the age of 8 or 9. I didnt have a cookbook, didnt have a recipe, I just put some ingredients together and baked it. It was really good. My foster mom was surprised when she got home from work and I had baked a cake. I was making simple things up until I was about 19 then I started coming up with my own recipes. I made spaghetti sauce from scratch without a recipe at 19. My grannny who always got heartburn from spaghetti sauce, didnt get it with mine. I guess it just came naturally to me.

I learnt to cook from the age of ten. In fact at our place all the children are taught cooking from early childhood. We were taught to be self-reliant from our childhood. It was a kind of militry training. We were taught complete household works from washing cloths to cooking. Self-help was the order of the day then for we kids. This has helped us a lot. If mom falls sick, we can take charge of the kitchen and other household works. We don't have to depend on relatives and neighbours.

Till the age of 20 I could only prepare tea or noodles for me. But after that when I moved away from my home town for job I had to learn bit of cooking. But even then I learned only few dishes as most of the times I ended up eating outside. But for the past 2 years I am not staying in my home country and the only way to get my favorite food items is to cook them myself. So these 2 years I have learned most of the things. Now I can say that I can try any recipe and most of the times it comes out good.

i think at the age of 22 years old, when i started to worked abroad, because im working way back, i always eat in our canteen,i always order food, which is not good because you dont know if its clean or not.So when i was abroad one of my flat mates loves to cooked, so i always asked her to teach me, asked the ingredients, i'll make a list for that, so when i will cooked i know what are the ingredients.I always practice to cooked, everytime our salary i bought something to cooked and i let them to taste until i got perfect. And it also advantage if you know how to cooked and also preparation when you get married, you know how to cook, and now im preferred to cooked some cakes, pasta, and all desserts, and you know it help me so much when i learned cooking because im having business now.Catering for my collegues.
