I live in Roxboro, North Carolina. It's a very small town and everyone knows one another. Due to the recession our town has lost a lot of jobs and people are getting laid off everyday. Both of my parents had to find jobs in different counties. My dad works in durham county which is about an hour away from Roxboro and my mom works in Prospect Hill which is about 45 minutes away. They are pressuring to get a job because we are moving to a bigger house ang the morgage is higher and everyone will have to contribute a little. But the thing is, they dont want me to have a job in another county. I have had 5 job interviews set up in Durham but they wouldnt let me go. Now I am 18 years old, so you can see how this kind of makes me angry. They want me to be an adult, yet they wont even let me drive outside of they county line! There are no jobs available in my hometown, and my parents fuss at me everyday about getting off my but and doing something with my life...I taking classes at Liberty University Online, which is going great for me and I will be attending my local Community College in the spring. I believe I have a lot of things going for me but my parents just cant see that. I have recently been offered 2 internships with Liberty University, one is for a company called Arise and the other is as an Assistant Counselor. Of course I have to pay for my own background checks, which is impossible for me to do since I am unemployed. So once again I ran to my dad to ask for the money and of course he said no. So where do I go from here? Who knows, but right now im trying to figure out where the money is going to come from...And the way it is here in Roxboro, I may not be getting a job any time soon...
