I get very nervous speaking in front of big crowds. Sometimes I choke or I studer. I don't mean to it is just a natural reaction. I wish I could be more confindent and not do those things. I care too much about what people think and I wish I didn't. I hate being so nervous. I don't like letting people down. I should be thinking about trying to build up my self esteem and get over being so nervous speaking in large crowds. I make a fool of myself when I make mistakes . I hope one day I will get over it. I know noones perfect.

I cannot get my emotions together to do any public speaking. I don't do any public speaking because of this. I would know what I want to say. I just cannot get it together to say it. I remember I had to do a report on a movie in college. It was to be six minutes in length. I got to four minutes and panic. For that I got a lesser grade that I wanted. Happy lotting.

The only moment i speak in front of a big crowd is when i did my presentation on my assignments in my studies. Well the most important thing is prepare yourself with good materials for your speech. In addition, you can practice by having someone as your audience like your parents, relatives, or friends. As you know practice makes perfect. Therefore it's very crucial to practice a lot. On the other hand, you must be well prepared and well known on the details you goin to speak out. If you will start studer on your speech as you forget what you want to say. Always take a deep breathe when you are in a nervous situation. It helps a lot.

I agree :) Nothing beats being prepared for a battle! Being unprepared will make you even more nervous. It's just like a soldier going to war without any weapons whatsoever. Ick. I don't want to be caught in that situation.

Since I was little I have feared standing in front of crowds as little as 10 people. My body automatically noticeably shakes violently in fear and caused me to be lost for words and embarrassed. I am so glad that my schooling is over (apart from college) as I found that they often found a good way to teach was to get people to come to the front and speak and of course this caused me to be very nervous within lessons and put me out of concentration. I learn much better independently.
Picking up certificates in front of crowds also worries me and I know something like that will probably have to happen again one day.

I'm not sure, sometimes I get nervous, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I actually feel more confident in front of many people, but sometimes my knees just buckle.

Generally speaking, i think everyone gets nervous when speaking in front of the big crowds even the most experienced get nervous too. Voice shuttering, knees shaking we all experienced that during or before a big speech. Having the confidence and will gonna get you through that nevouseness, trust me. Once you get it goin you'll gonna get comfortable with it. Don't forget to be natural and sometimes practice will help too.

OH...do I ever. I am so so bad at that sort of thing. I am "selective mute" it is an anxiety disorder. As a kid , I got so so uptight talking even in class...sitting at my desk that my voice would freeze....my whole body would freeze up. I don't know what was more humiliating, ....not being able to talk or talking in little squeaks. My daughter was also diagnosed (its hereditary) & she was worse than me. She did not talk at all in school until her highschool year. I think the only reason that I fared better than she did was that I had a more supportive group of teachers and peers that accepted me and encouraged me without trying to push me to change. I don't know how bad it is for you but they do have public speaking courses that help a lot of people. In my case, I just had to put myself in very awkward situations over and over and over until it got better. It did eventually and I am very articulate most of the time. The only time the old me comes back is ...put a hot guy in front of me or someone in authority that I really care about.

Am the same way. I get super nervous to talk to people the only difference is that some how in the middle of my speech or whatever i just go with the flow. I'm not going to lie it takes some hard work to get over that fear, because it still happens to me , ut i just try to put it aside. I have that issue to I hate to let people down, and I do care what people say sometimes especially if it's someone i look up to.

I do feel all nervous and sweaty when I go up and talk with a large audience. I do stutter a lot like Jimmy Fallon. I don't know how but I just do it a lot. I know I could go get some kind of counselling or join a public speaking class so I could get more comfortable. I'm lucky that I rarely have to speak in front of large group of people.

I am very nervous when i was a child, now the situation becomes better. I think i was nervous because i was shy as a young. when i graduate from university, i have always told myself to grow up, be more mature, and it really take effects. I have some methods to avoid your nervousness, if you fear to see others' eyes, you can look at others' nose, and doing so can help you feel better, i have used this way to make conversation more comfortable, hope you can conquer the fault, good luck!

I also have the nervous felling when i have to give a public speaking or presentation. However, most of the time i will just take a deep breath between sentences to calm myself. If you are familiar with your topic, you will become more confident as you know what you are going to talk about.Sometime, smile can make you less nervous during a public speaking too.

I'm very shy, and I'm also afraid of talking at the middle of crowds. I'm often obsessed that I'll lose something that I should say, even I've well prepared my speech before. But once, I tried praying before speaking and it hepled somehow. I'm not very religious, but I think it causes a psycological effect: if you don't believe in yourself, you must have something or someone to believe in, and it becomes a good base for you to count on.

Hi Tuckersheri,
I never make a speech in front of public and I don't think I can do it.
I am a shy person and I believe I will lost my words when standing on the stage.
I remembered well when I was in my primary, my teacher like to asked me sing in front of the class. At first, I feel shy too,but after a few tries, the shyness is Gone and I feel confidence to sing in front of my classmates.
I also sang a song during my wedding day, I love singing.
I will get nervous to speak in front of public ,as for singing in front of public I can accept it.

I get nervous to at times, especially when you don't know anybody in the crowd. Whenever that happens, I say a little prayer that God would help me get through it. It really does help. And I also take deep breaths backstage, as a way to calm down my overexcited/anxious nerves.
There are just times when you feel your chest constricts and your mouth starts to go dry. It's normal, and just a sign that you're anxious. So try to relax :)
