Would you spend the night alone in a haunted house for $50,000?

Lets suppose there is a "hauted house" in your town. There have been valid documentations of hauntings in this house and it's even been featured on television stations such as Discovery or The Travel Channel. Here are the guide lines: you have to spend the entire night in the house (from 6pm-6am). You have to be by yourself (and that includes no pets) and other than having a phone for emergecies, you can't bring your cell phone (you have to be completely alone). Do you think you could do it for $50,000?
Honestly, I don't think I could even for such a huge sum of money. I think my imagination would frighten me half to death.

Sure thing. Where do I sign up? I'd rather be with ghosts than live in my country with corruption and cheesy celebrities. At least ghosts are ghosts. I certainly would wanna try. And if ever I can get to befriend the evil ones I'm going to bring them back with me to scare d sht out of the politicians and cheesy celebrities in my country. That is if I'm lucky enough to get out alive. Lol.

thanks kitty, I just thought of it and had to post it before I forget. I'm glad that made ya laugh. But I do mean every word of what I said. Even for just that much money. I think the achievement of bringing back the evil ghosts with me for vengeance is priceless. Lol. Cheers!

No way....I might die of fright and will never enjoy that money. Let somebody else have it. I wouldn't even be there with my pets.

Hi, mohanmode!
I never looked at it from your perspective: since you've experienced "haunted houses" in amusment parks, being in a supposedly real haunted house wouldn't be that much different. I honestly don't think it's the "haunted house" aspect that scares me so much. It's the fact that I would be alone. That's what really frightens me.

If this chance was given to me then i would definitely spend a whole night alone...This is because i dont believe in any ghost..But for me this amount is a bit less..I need much more than that cause spend a whole night in a haunted house is not a joke..so i wont miss this golden opportunity...

Hi, morange!
It's interesting and very cool that you look at this as a "golden opportunity". I like how some people look at the situation from a money angle and others, look at it as an opportunity. I suppose some want the fortune, while others want the adventure, and some people want both!

I think that I could probably pay off all of my debts with 50,000 dollars, and that would mean a lot to me. The long-term peace of mind that I would get from having my debts paid off would outweigh one night of potential fear. I will admit that the thought of experiencing the paranormal does frighten me, but I'm also very curious and inquisitive. I love the show Ghost Hunters and the documentation techniques that they use, and if I was going to spend a night in a haunted house I would probably want to try some of those techniques. I have stayed at supposedly haunted hotels with my husband before. We haven't developed the pictures yet, so I don't know if we caught anything, but we tried. :-)

Hi, thyst07!
I liked how you weighed the benefits of your peace of mind of having your debts paid off against your potential fear. The fact that while you are frightened and yet curious about the paranormal shows that you're pretty courageous. I also think it's pretty cool that you and your husband stayed at supposedly haunted hotels.

When I was a teenager, I had a paper route in which I had to deliver to this very scary house. There were bushes all around the porch, which made it very dark. Now, I have to mention that I delivered the paper in the middle of the night. And yes, I went to school. I would do my route, come home, and then go back to bed until I had to get up.
Anyway, I would run away from that house faster than a speeding bullet. But you know what? I would stay in a haunted house for $50,000. With a baby girl on the way (going to be here within the next 10 days), I could pay off some serious debt. :)

Hi, gingisnapz!
First of all congratulations on the upcoming birth of your daughter!
I could just imagine how scary it was to be delivering newspapers to that scary looking house in the middle of the night. I also admire the fact that you would stay in a haunted house.

NooooO! lol. I would never ever spend a night in a haunted house...not for any money! Ghosts are #2 on my list of things I am most scared of (zombies are #1) lol. Money isn't worth having a heart attack over lol. Plus...even if I made it out of the house in the morning, any sound or occurance that happened during the night would stick with me forever and I would probably have nightmares lol

Hi, LilyoftheThorns!
Yep, I pretty much feel as you do about not spending a night in a haunted house for any amount of money. I could maybe do it if someone was with me, but that would be a big IF and as I said in my original post, you would have to be alone. And I agree that the experience would linger with me for a long time afterwards so I would jump at every little noise I would hear.

yes i would challenge myself to do that. just wanted to clear the mechanics har har har. that this 50,000 dollars is for a night only then i can do that. 50,000 is 50,000. i work at nights and i can not earn that for one night. so i will sure do that. as long as the ghost are ghost not the made up ghost or machine operated like they use on movies then i will have a go.

Hi se7enthbird!
I admire your courage and understand where you are coming from about needing the money. 50,000 may not seem like much to some, while it's a huge amount to others. And nope, no "made up" ghosts in this Haunted House, and yep, it's only for one night.

no i've watched too many scary movies to fall for that one. 50,000 dollars is not enough for me to be open bait for a probably homicidal ghost that'll follow me around and then slowly tortue me in the shadows or mirrors or any other reflective surface. i want to stay away from the paranormal as much as possilbe.

Hi, satan88!
I totally agree with you about not wanting to mess around with the paranormal. I give someone who could stay in a haunted house a lot of credit because I know I couldn't do it. And yes, I would think about just about every Haunted House related horror movie. Real or not, the imagination is a powerful thing it it'd probably overtake my logical thinking!

I would spend it for $50000 thousand , I would just keep my eyes close all night and sit in one corner lol and pray all night . I would not let a ghost stop me form making a easy $50000, I could pay off all my college tuition and do some investment with that money .

I don't know maybe yes maybe no. But majority will be "NO". I just can't imagine myself alone in haunted house for 12 hours at night. I'll probably just look for another way to earn money but "haunted house" NO WAY!
