If you had to chose your favorite books which would they be? Not more than five of your favorites. What ones do you remember maybe from childhood or one you had to read for school? For me i recall Where The Red Fern Grows written by Wilson Rawls. It stands out in my mind because of the storyline ofcourse but also Mr. Rawls came to my school when i was in the fourth grade and there was an assembly. He told about writing the book and even brought his drafts that amounted to a stack of papers nearly as tall as he was. For those of you that don't know the storyline it is about a young boy who buys and trains two redbone coonhounds. It is quite an adventure. Which is your favorite?

You were very lucky met the author face to face. :) My favorite authors all were hundreds year old.
Favorite books? uh......too many, most of in Chinese, you know, A DREAM OF RED MANSIONS and A SURROUNDED CITY. In English, my all time favorite book would be PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen. If you ask me how many times I read it? I really don't know. I would like read it anytime and anywhere free time.

"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." Eternally immutable. Mr. Pride and Miss Prejudice are always around us.
yeah, I also think that the best one of Jane Austen's.

The first book I remember reading and loving is The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephan King. I got it at the school library when I was in elementary school. It's not his normal "scary" stuff at all. It's a medieval story about kings and knights.

Detective stories of Sherlock Holmes are my all time favourites. The Hound of Baskervills, Solitary Cyclist, Seckle Band, Man with the twisted lip, A Scandal in Bohemia, The Massgrave Rituals still attracts me so much. I have read it when I was 15 still I am reading it in my 35 and will read it when I will be 50. It will never get old to me. Do you have read this books?

No, I haven't. But I have seen several on our PBS station. I figure I will never be able to read all the ones I want to so catching afew they have made into movies can't hurt. Teehee Sherlock Holmes was always a favorite of my mothers. I am more into thrillers and historial romances.

No no. Listening a book & reading a book have much differences. I think you must read the book to get a different experience. In my opinion you must read all other stories of Sherlock Holmes, so that you will learn how enchanting are the stories. Have you read Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple's detective stories?

My favorite book would have to be Treasure Island. The days of Long John Silver, swashbucklers, buried treasure, and the sea are fascinating to me. I came to love this story in a 7th grade English class.

Yes, those English classes in junior high! And the era of the swashbucklers. Wow! Ever watch any of the vintage movies of that era? They are good too!

Oh my gosh, not more than five? The Lord of the Rings, Witch World by Andre Norton, Dragonsong by Anne McCaffrey, Moon Called by Patricia Briggs, The RiddleMaster of Hed by Patricia McKillip pretty much top my list of favorites. Being a bookworm, it's hard to make a choice of my favorites, there are so many!

I have so many favorites, celticeagle, that it will be hard to single out only a few. I went through the entire series of Nancy Drew Mysteries by Carolyn Keene. I think I've also read everything that Agatha Christie ever wrote. Stephen King is my favorite writer, so I'd have to list anything by him. The Bible is my favorite book because it is filled with rules to live by as well as verses that are uplifting.

My all time favourite books are The Lord Of The Rings books, including The Hobbit! LOTR was released as 3 books, but I have the big fat one that has all three in it!
I also love the Harry Potter series!
These are recent editions to my bookshelf as I have only been reading them over the last ten years. As a child, the ones that stand out in my memory as being my favourites were Enid Blyton books! I loved anything by her, I started with The Faraway Tree books and then later, I was into the Famous Five books!

Loved it as well. TLOTR. Aren't they a bit confusing at times and hard to stay intune with what is going on. I can't always stay focused.

I think I found it a bit hard to follow the first time I read it and had to re-read a few bits, but I am pretty good with it each time I read it now!

I have found that many of my favourite books are books that I read in my childhood. Maybe it's because you have better possibilities to hide away and completely lose yourself in a book when you are a kid. The whole reading experience just becomes magical.
One book in particular that I loved reading is The secret garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

My favourite books are mostly fantasy and historical fictions. I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so it's safe to say that my all time favourite is the Harry Potter series. Although over the years, I did discover many other books that are just as good or even better. Goose Girl by Shannon Hale is one example. Another of my favourite is Anne of Green Gables.

I think my favorite book is True Betrayals by Nora Roberts. If you haven't heard of it or read it, it's an interesting book. It has the mixture of romance, discovery and of course betrayal. There's a nice twist to the book. The main character finds out a few things, beginning at the first part of the book, and up to the last part of the book. I like Nora Robert's style of writing.

It's pretty hard for me to pick my favorite book of all time but I can pick out my favorite probably of both fiction and nonfiction books. I would say that my favorite nonfiction book is probably either the Yogi of Sri Aurobindo or Eckankar. My favorite fiction book is probably Neuromancer by William Gibson.

Where the Red Fern Grows is one of my favorites.. Along with The Wizard of Oz.. I was really into fairy tales and other books like that... Something that was so far away from reality, when I was reading these books it took my mind to places far off... Away from home, and the stuff that happen there...
