I am too tempted to have food, especially chat items from street shops. It is cheap and displayed in an attractive way. I force myself not to have that food because there is a high chance for getting contagious diseases like swine flu or food poison. What about you?

During my college days, I always had my food from the roadside eateries since it caters to our Hunger and financial need in an efficient way. We people used to mind eating in Posh eateries at that time(lolz) since we hardly have enough money to goto restaurants. Even somedays, we used to keep 'account' at the shops and settle once we get money in the first week of month. Have a great day and thanks for starting this discussion. Cheers

Eating at street shops are great fun and especially in India u have a chance to taste the best food at a very reasonable rate...the only thing is that our body needs to get adapted to the food and the conditions...The best dish that are available among the street food is none other than pani-puri and u can never get the taste of a pani puri in a posh eateries..

Hello friend, Pani puri is my favorite chat item and I don't miss a chance to have it. I also like Dahi puri. But, I am kind of scared to have that food because you can understand by jusing watching the surrounding that the food is not prepared and served in a clean atmosphere. But, this can also happen in big hotels, we never see their kitchen.

I love food and I am also tempted to have food from street shops. But then I think better of it and avoid because I don't want to fall sick. They do not use clean water and their vessels are also not clean. When we were small, our parents were very strict about not eating from street shops, no matter how much we wanted to. So the lesson is still remembered although once in a while I do go aganins teaching.

Because you can eat them on the go, they take seconds to put together and they are cheep.
I prefer the street vendors.. Their food is so good and fast. I love the taquitos with chile and a sprinkle of lime juice! Or roasted corn in a cup with butter, chile, Parmesan cheese, pepper, salt and lime juice. You talk about good!!!

I like them sometimes, when no other good hotels are around. Generally they are prepared fresh and sold at very cheap rate. As they are hot and tasty chances of getting contagious deceases are very less. Using pavements hawkers and shops will save some money.

Hi, I don't mind eating food at the street, as long as they maintain the hygine there. Because most of the times there is dirtyness around such shops and then it becomes risky eating there, and getting infections. So before taking such food, just ensure that hygene is maintained and the shop from where you are eating is using good quality ingrediants for preparing food.

yes i do have food in street shops. But i see to it that it is cleanly prepared. AS regards contacting diseases, chances are more through water than cooked food. i usually dont drink water outside. I carry a bottle of boiled and cooled water wit me always xthx

Nope, I don't mind. Hehe. I sometimes eat in the street shops. Especially here in our country, street food is just normal.
