What Size Are Your Ankles?

I need help with something... Please post your ankle measurement (in inches or centimeters) and your foot size (if not US sizing, please specify what type of sizing). I'm trying to buy ankle supports online, but they don't have measurements. Instead, the measurement goes with the foot size. Well, I have rather large feet (size 10), but I'm convinced that I have small ankles (8 inches). I know I don't want to buy the ankle supports for a size 10 (large), but I can't decide if I should buy small or medium. So I wanted to see what typical ankle measurements were for people who have size 6 feet or size 8, or even 5 or 7 really. If you have size 10 feet, that is still helpful for me to know what the average size is for the ankles. Maybe my ankles aren't as small as I'm thinking, but I don't think they correspond to my shoe size. Thanks for any help! Oh, and this is mostly for women, but if you're a man and want to respond, just let me know it is men's foot sizing and that will still be helpful. Thanks!

Thanks! That is very useful. In men's sizes I wear about an 8 or 8.5, so maybe I do have small ankles. Will have to gather more data. The ankle supports say they are for men or women, and give shoe sizes rather than ankle measurements.

hipigglies I am a woman and wear size ten shoes, and just measured my right ankle ,its almost ten inches but my feet and ankles have been swelling its usually around nine, I always had slim ankles but large feet, normally I think my ankle is more like nine. gosh if your ankles are 8 a larger would not support your ankle.

Thanks! I ended up taking a medium sized ankle support. I almost got to take them off awhile ago, but managed to resprain one ankle so now I still wear both supports just to be safe. After the marathon I may try removing the supports again.
