It really depends on whether you should be happy with your hard-disk space. I'm only using 250 Gb worth of hard-disk space and I barely fill it up to the brim. Maybe because I don't have as many songs as you do. But if you really think that the hard-disk space you have is not enough for you then, I think it's time to buy a hard-disk with more capacity to satisfy your needs :)

Hey, Well for some reason I don't know why, but daily my hard disk space gets eaten up, I have no idea why. I am not sure if it is Vista or something, but my free space is shrinking and I am putting nothing on the computer. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

How computer technology has changed. My first storage was made on cassette tapes. From there it was 5 1/4" and 3 1/2" disks. Then 10 MB hard drives. Right up to the 320 GB hard drive on my newest laptop. I have an external hard drive that is 250GB and full. A desktop with 2 80GB drives that are full. Another laptop with 1 80GB drive that is full. A few hundred DVD's as well along with CD's. There's never enough space. Now I'm looking at getting TB external drives, what else can we do to keep up.

Once upon a time (4 years ago), I had a 40GB hard disk and I felt that was great. Then came the 160GB hard disk and after that my need for space increased. Now I have three 160GB hard disks, one 40 GB hard disk and an 8 GB pen drive and still I am seriously lacking space. And all these hard disks are filled near to the brink.

I can't seem to have enough of them. Hard disk are getting bigger every time and cheaper compared to previous ones but the files I put in them seems to grow in sizes and number even more. There is always the need for me to have bigger capacity HDD. The only thing that prevent me from having more is my pocket and if it told me to, I do.

My current machine has a 160GB HDD and a 320GB HDD one. 500GB of storage room for everything from Windows to programs, going through games and any downloads I may do, along with any project work files I may need to be dealing with, swap file (Virtual Memory, you know). Is this enough? Yes. 500GB is... a lot. People just can't quite seem to remember what it was ... 10~13 years back, when 500 -MB- was a lot. I mean, I suppose that in the meanwhile programs got bigger, games as well and suddenly we're using our hard disks to store whole music albums and even movies and entire TV series. But do people really need to keep all this around? Those programs you haven't used in weeks, those games you have installed still but haven't played in months, look at all those downloads you made over the past half year and tell me if you still need half of that junk that you were to lazy to delete even though you don't even know what it is for!! Anyway, I'm content with my total 500GB room. Truth be told ... it's close. It's really close of getting full, but that's far from being a sign I need to buy a new hard disk or anything even remotely like that. No, what I need is sort through all this pending crap and purge what's no longer useful and I'm sure I'll have once again a good amount of free room. Thinking of free room, that means also that my HDDs are pending a good de-fragmentation after that purge.
