Do you get stressed/ teary when you misplace items?

I always seem to misplace items and sometimes I swear that I've put something somewhere, really need it and think someone has moved it. I really can't help it but it sometimes stupidly almost brings me to tears or actually does. In fact, it doesn't have to be anything special to make me do this. I just start stressing as I find myself ridiculous for not remembering the simplest things or because I may have carefully tried to place items in different places because of what they are.
It really gives me a headache and I find it kind of odd that i react this way as I tend to be quite a calm person otherwise, for example I don't tend to stress out at people if they annoy me, I just let things pass by.
Do you think it's me taking out my stress from other happenings?
Does this happen to you?

It depends on what I've lost. When I lose something that's not so important, then I just let it go and buy another one. But when I lose somethings that's really important or valuable, then that's when I get really frustrated and tear down a place just to find what I'm looking for.

Haha, don't worry, I'm sure many people have torn down rooms to find things! Don't worry about the spelling! My typing is also terrible. Luckily Firefox checks it for me haha!
Thanks for sharing :)

By the way, sorry for the typo. I meant "something" not "somethings". This is the second time that I made this mistake today. My fingers seem to have a mind of their own.

It is kind of funny but sometimes, I do. When important things are lost, I get desperate to find them. I believe that when things are just there we don't really mind them but once they are lost, we usually have a hard time looking for them. If I can't find the things I'm looking for when I've already searched for about an hour or so, I panic. There was a time that I lost all my savings in my box (I believe someone stole it), I cried real hard because it disappeared just like that when I have exerted a lot of effort to keep that money.

I guess you never found your savings? You see, that is a point. There are things that I have lost and never found again within my house. Yet I wouldn't say that anyone has stolen them as they're items not worth stealing! Perhaps I did lose them outside my house but it is doubtful. I moved home 6 years ago which meant everything was looked through and taken out of the rooms, yet things still didn't turn up!

I never did. That was a long time ago, but whenever I try to save again I always remember that incident. That was not the first time I lost my savings, so you could just imagine how much I've lost. I thought what if I just spent it back then instead of keeping it, then it will not go to waste. But it's okay now. Haha. Well, did you have a housekeeper? Because we did. That's when the mysterious things happened. Haha. Take care! :)

I guess losing things must be your one big pet peeve then!! Sometimes it happens because we're only human though. You are so used to doing certain actions that you set an item down without thinking about it or registering it in your mind in other words. Later you find yourself wandering about looking for it!!
What I just explained happens to me quite often! I have these mindless habits: putting my keys in my purse, setting my phone in the bathroom window(then leaving it there and not remembering that later lol), and I bet you know where I'm going with this!!
It's funny that people annoying you doesn't stress you out, but this does. I wish I were that way. Almost everything stresses me out! It could be overcompensation for the lack of stress elsewhere or this could just be your one thing that you can't stand! Have a good day! :)

Haha, I think you're right! I do have a sort of routine and so when I'm just doing what I usually do I end up switching off, making problems later as I don't know if I've put something in the right place or wrong place! Sometimes I think a ghost and stolen something haha.

That happens to me every day well the not being able to find things especially things that I am sure I put them in a safe place and a good place so I can remember. There are times that I do get teary when I can find something and that is when I get really upset about it and I think that I might be losing my memory. My grandma on my dads side has alsheimer so I am really scared that I might end up having it since it is really sad to see her and know that she dose not remember anything and that there are times that she would get confused with time and she wont even remember how to eat and to use the restroom. It is just so sad to see a loved one go true all of that.

It's really sad to hear about your grandma. Alseimers (spelling?) is such a horrible thing which I know as hit people around me and so I know how terrible it is to see. I think you have brought up a point there that we should be thankful about the amount we do remember and really shouldn't be stressing so much at all!
Best wishes to yourself and your family,
thanks for sharing :)

Hi thoseapplesloonice, u sound so much like me! I am tardy, and absentminded. I feel terrible because my father, who is 75 has memory intact! He remembers when he deposited a cheque, or what is the bank balance. I keep thinking, did I pay this this month and so on. :( I am not always crying though. But at times, yes. I misplace crucial papers, or even comb! And then I feel terrible. BTW, does this need any therapy? I wish somebody would let us know how we should go about improving if possible.

I know that feeling! I know a lot of elderly people who have their memory intact and its quite annoying, but brings me hope that one day I'll hopefully be so used the easy mistakes that I wont make them anyway!
Oh yes, I really wish there was some therapy!
No problem with the miss-typed name!

yeah sometimes i do. especially when the thing that i have lost is not mine and is so important to them. one time i lost a pouch owned by my friend i misplaced it on a desk, we searched for it and look way back to remember all what happened so that we can step by step locate the pouch. we searched for about an hour and then my friend cried T_T. it was my fault she blamed me then. because on that pouch there were many things that is so important to her T__T i cant do anything.. i was so stupid at that time. but then she forgave me and i promised to myself NEVER to be careless again. i shed a small tear at that time. now, the things that is important to me and all the things that was given to me, i treasure it most and take good care of it and secure it all the time. :) like every hour / 30 mins. i check all my belongings and see if they're doing fine hehe :D

Your last point kind of relates to me. When I'm out and about I always check my pockets every 5 minutes to make sure I haven't lost my mobile phone or money, for example. I think that is partly down to the fact I always used to lose stuff when I was out when I was little.

I actually don't get really stressed over misplacing things. If I did then I'd be crying a river because I do it all the time. I tend to be so absent minded at times. My guess would be that you maybe have too much on your mind. It also sounds as if you are very hard on yourself. What I find is that if I take a break from looking for something that I've misplaced, nine times out of ten, I'll suddenly remember right where I put it or just come across it. It is usually in some spot that I could swear I looked in and probably did. But if I'm frantically looking, I for some reason I miss it.

You're very lucky :) It's odd though, because like I said I don't cry a lot from stress. The only 2 things that really stress me out are losing things and when things break!
I suppose I am a little hard on myself, but I think it's right that I am at times!
Yeah, usually after I've stressed out I'll give up and then later on I'll remember that it's in the most obvious place.

If the item I have misplaced is important, do get stressed out about it and just cannot relax until it is found. Yesterday morning, I could not find my car keys. My husband and I searched for a gfood 30 minutes before finally finding them. My daughter had accidentally thrown them in the trash!!

I realized I couldn't find my music player, last night, and I had a meltdown. I hadn't used it in a while, but I thought I knew where it was... turned out, I had no clue :|
At first, I was frustrated, but kept calm. I thought of every logical place that I could have put it. When that failed, I started looking in every other place. When that failed, I started throwing everything off of my shelves, and onto the floor :P The longer you can't find it, the more upset you get :\
I hit my pillow a couple of times, nearly cried, and went to bed without any bedtime preparations.
I tried looking more this morning. A couple of hours ago, I started to put everything that's on the floor, back, and guess what I saw? :| The tip of my music player was sticking out, from behind a ball of yarn. So, panic is over :D So happy I found it :D

Haha I'm glad you found it! It seems I'm not alone with that then and you're correct in saying that the longer you can't find it, the more upset you get!

Most of stressed for me are coming from life. Everyday I went out to earn money for life. I don't have bachelor certification and I don't have stong relationship in the town so I must try my best to do my job. I'm a man so I never teared. In my mind, all of things always have a solution.

I get upset with myself when I miss place something. Lots of times I will lay my keys down and then get to doing something else then I will need my keys and I have to back track so I can fine them. Sometimes it does not take to long other times it does. But I will always fine the keys and then say to myself dumb, dumb. Then I just go on my way and forget about it. I do not get stress out or teary eye about things that I have misplace.

It seems losing keys are a common problem and lead to stress for many people as they're coming up again and again here in this discussion. Keep those keys safe! :)

I do misplace items, and then I forget where I have placed them. Then I spend lot of precious time in trying looking at different places. While searching, I would suddenly remember, oh! I had kept them there. But, by that I am completely frustrated and fed up with my life and I feel it is very common so nothing to worry about.

a bit now and then. of course, it depends on the kind of item i may have mistplaced and also if i need to leave the home in an emergency (or wherever i misplaced my item) because then i either need to leave home without it or i risk leaving it behind never to find it again. so, if it's an important or expensive item, then yes, i get pretty stressd.

That is another thing that stresses me out. I'm someone who is known for being late everywhere I go and I believe the main reason for that is because things always seem to go missing last minute! Therefore causing me to run around finding them as time keeps ticking!

It hurts so much, I cry deep inside, really so frustating. Things never workout straight with me. My mind keeps on thinking something, there is no peace of mind. I dont know what to do, please help.
