US President Barack Obama said in recent TV interviews that because of his black skin perhaps many people don't like him. At the same reason many voted for him. He commented these on Racism in US politics. He said, but the criticisms on his health policy is not for racism. What do you think about Obama's remarks?

"US President Barack Obama said in recent TV interviews that because of his black skin perhaps many people don't like him"
I think you have misundersood his remarks, he said there may still be some element of racism out there, but that it wasn't the driving force behind oposition to him.

X I would like to thank you for saying it all. I do have one question though, maybe you can answer it for me. Is the so called conspiracy so big that they alter his speeches "this one goes to the repubs" and this one to the dems? Lmao. Sounds like the person that wrote this post heard or read something and did not actually see what Obama actually said. This is how the rhetoric goes crazy!

I am tired of everything coming back to race. As long as he keeps playing the race card it will be an issue.
We need to stop looking at or worrying about the color of someones skin, whether he is the president or not and start looking at and worrying about the issues at hand.
I do not agree with Obama's health reform not because he is black, but because I see many things wrong with it, that I don't agree with

Obama's skin colour(color) was a major factor in US president election. But he gain the minds of both white and black people by his intelligent gesture. To get his party's nomination Ms.Hillary Clinton was his strong rival.Obama was almost unknown in global politics. But at that time Hillary was very popular outside America. So Obama had shown a miracle .

If this quote states correctly what Obama actually said where is he playing the race card? He stated the objection to the health reform is not because of the color of his skin.
And no one can deny the earlier part of the statement either. I think he hit the nail on the head when he said many do NOT like him because of his skin color. And others DID vote for him because of the color of his skin.
If you think about it, it is probably the most accurate remark any one has made as to how his race affects what he does. He isn't painting everyone who objects with his policies as racist and he is even saying that there are people who will go along with him simply because of his skin color.

I like his good sense, calm approach, he doesn't deny the race problems but he keeps right on message.

For someone who went to Harvard, Obama's certainly not acting like it. Come on, people...do you really think that the American people oppose his policies strictly because of his skin color? He's the one bringing up the race card, not the people attending the town hall meetings and rallies. Okay, sure...there will always be a minority of people who don't like him because of his race. You're going to have a nutty few anywhere you go, in all walks of life. For Barry Obama to make a blanket statement like that, it's very, very dishonest, and a blatant attempt to make himself out to be a victim, which is not the case at all.
