I am not one of life's real life extroverts - I leave that to when I am on here - and far prefer a small dinner/supper party of say six or eight than a heaving mass of bodies all straining to hear each other over the music, spilling drinks and spitting vol au vents crumbs at each other. Do you have a preference or don't care just so long as you get an invite?

Not really. I'm as happy in a small group, where I socialize as I am hovering in an unseen, obsrvatory corner of a large gathering. Somewhere away from the music amplifiers and near the buffet table...lol. The gossip from watching a large group can be just as entertaining as what is hear in a small group.

Four to six people is more than enough for me. Much as I love my family, don't tell them, I can't stand it if they all turn up at once. I often get invited to big family parties and make sure I arrive as late as possible and leave early. As a child I used to disappear with a book when all the family got together. I think I still do that.

I can qualify it even more. It should be a small group, I need to know at least one person there and I do better one on one. In group conversations, I tend to feel lost. Even better if there is a very extroverted person who can manage to actually get me to feel comfortable...

I'm a party-hater, I'm afraid! I'd much rather be cozied up in bed with a good book! I hate dressing up, and I'm not a drinker - so it bores me to be stuck with groups of people who are getting sillier and sillier as the evening wears on. All I want to do is go home!

I enjoy going to parties. I don't like giving the party. Feel free to invite me to your parties. I will bring food or drinks. Let me know how I can help you. But please do not ask me to do the party for you. I am not good at it.

I'm not one that likes crowds either, Pike. Maybe when I was 17, I thought they were good. I was so dam shy that the more people the easier it was to blend in ...it was great. I prefer to have a couple of friends over and have dinner, drinks....good talk .....whatever.

I love to party but with few friends not with a big group of people. When i was in college we had a very big group and we used to go to pizza corners and eat, sometimes we used to go to friends house and eat at birthdays.Mostly we used to have our parties at hotels and snack points. If i am invited i attend a party or else if i hear about a friends party i do not get bothered with it.

hi pikey me too, I am not an extrovert at all. I get all tongue tied at a large party, while I can have fun at a small party. I can enjoy just talking to a few people while I used to hide behind my hubby at a large party.Ihave trouble trying to hold a drink in one hand, and a paper plate of dubious strength full of food, and still hang on to my quad cane. need three hands, I invariably either spill some of my drink, or crumbs are on the floor, or my cane topples over. I am a klutz anyway and that always makes it worse. Then too when you only know the hosts all the other quests can see me being a klutz and then I am blushing and wishing oh gee wish I was home.

I don't much care what size the party is P1key, basically it all depends on who is there. If it is a group of what I consider boring, highly intelligent people then I would rather it be small as then there are less people to bore me, (not that I don't like highly intelligent people, I Do actually, just not a whole room full of them at once, then there is never anyone fun to get away to when I get bored and don't have any idea what they are talking about!!), but if it is a party filled with fun loving party goers then large is good too!

Oh I know what you mean P1key...you feel so much like a 3rd wheel and even though you Know it isn't true, sometimes you think these people are Purposely keeping you in the dark because they don't like you or want you to be in on their Big Secrets!!

Parties are about the music and the fun. If you don't enjoy yourself why do you go?
I like partying. But I prefer certain genres of music. Of course dance.
I like big events and festivals really much.
If the music is bad in my opinion, I drink and make fun with my friends.
If the music is great, I dance 'till my legs are numb
The more people are into the music the DJ plays, the more I enjoy.
The mood in the club is very important.
I don't go to home parties, in my country there is no such thing.
Or you hang at somebody's place and drink a little and have fun. Or you go out to a club or gig. We like to party big in Europe.
take care and party hard

Well, I would rather have a small(4-6) dinner party then have a big loud bash party with to many people. Birthday parties are enough for me..they are always very tiring having to deal with so many people and their likes, dislikes, wants and needs. Smaller is just easier and I feel I would enjoy it more. Wild child I am not.

It depends on my mood. Although I haven't been to a party for years, I would sometimes like to be at a party where there are lots of people--but I'll pass on the loud music! But usually I would opt for the small, more intimate gathering.

Hey,
Well I have been to a party recently that wasn't really that good. I mean there were people drinking and people vomiting and I didn't really feel like that was a party at all. I just felt sorry for all of them, wasting their lives. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

Hi there!
I like intimate dinner parties where my friends and I can hear each other without shouting
I do not mind noisy parties only when I am a close friend of the host's and there is a small corner where I can sit down and talk to some friends.
Take care!
