Labrador or German Shepherd?

I have had both, German Shepherds seem to be a little bit smarter and chew less things. But at least you are giving it some thought as to what kind of dog would be better for you and your family, some time back, I found this site and it's interesting with what kind of dogs would be good for you! I love both dogs; both are beautiful, both are loyal... But really, ANY breed has the possibilty of being a good watch dog and protecter--it just depends on the personality of the specific dog. Just don't expect to always get the strong, stoic, watch dog german sheperd...and don't necesarilly expect a lovable, laughable lab. Hey, I looked up a couple dogs for you :) If you don't like these dogs, you should search through all the Adoptable Pets at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, the good thing about them is you don't have to be in Utah to get your perfect pet. The first I found for you is a pretty white german shepherd. The second is an adorable yellow labrador retriever. But they have hundreds of dogs, and it's really easy to search through them by specific criteria (just use the list at the right of the adoptable pet screen). Not sure which dog makes the best pet but keep in mind that German Shepherds are trained to protect and assist the police. They can be very protective of their owners. If I had to make a choice it would be a shepherd. Over the years we have owned an Australian Shepherd and he was a fantastic pet. He was good with kids and a good watchdog. We haven't owned a Lab but they can also be very gentle and a good pet.
