I would prefer to use my own transport as I can go anywhere I want to.If I use a public transport bus I need to get down somewhere from where I have to walk to the destination. One more thing is I have to wait till I get that public transport vehile to depart at a particular time whereas if I use my own vehile I can leave at whatever time I want to.Whats your take on this?
Do you like to use your own vehile or the public transport vehicle?

Hi krupesh, it depends on how long the journey is. Or depending on what type of journey we wish. If it is really convenient to ride on a public transport and can reach the destination in a near distance I will use the express bus for sure. It's more relaxing to sit, to sleep, to read or to any favorite stuffs we could in the bus. But just pay for the seat ticket
If having vocation in different local tourist sites with our family, I prefer to use our own auto. We just have to dump all the necessaries in the boot and then set off. We could reach our desirable sites at any time and at any way freely. Of course we have to pay rather much for toll and gasoline as well
Happy posting

Personally I prefer to own my own transportation, but there are definite benefits of using public transportation. When my wife and I lived in Korea we didn't have a car so we where forced to use the subway system there, and it wasn't so bad. The subway and bus system was very efficient and it also forced me to stop being lazy and walk more. But I still prefer the convenience of owning my own car.

Of course there is a bigger advantage if you have your own transportation when travelling to your own destination. I think you could reach more faster and more conveniently than choosing to travel vir public transport.
But there are a few disadvantage on using your own private vehicle too. Like for example you are responsible in your gasoline consumption too and that would mean if the traffic is heavy were your going the cost of transporting yourself would be much higher than riding in a public bus where you will only be charged for only by a fixed amount no matter how the traffic conditions are in your place of destination. Another thing you should consider is if the place your going to is rampant in carnapping incidents if you ride your vehicle you should also ensure that the place you park your car woul be safe there while you are gone. You would constantly check your car for that.

Hi krupesh! I don't have my own vehicle so I have no choice
but to use public transportation and I hate it! It is truly
miserable to have to depend on the busses and their schedules!
They are never on time and if you miss one you have to wait
and hope that the next one will be on time and you won't be
late for your appointment! And when the weather is very hot
or very cold it is really uncomfortable to have to wait outside
at the busstops because there is very little shelter protecting
you from the weather!

I was lucky to grow up in an area with multiple colleges within a three town area. The public transportation was excellent, connecting not only the colleges, but the apartments, downtowns and malls. Riding was free for anyone who wanted to use it, student or not. As a result, I never bothered with my drivers license until I moved out of the area. I live in a small city now that is also a college town. Unfortunately, the public transportation is not that good. The schedules are at odd hours, and the stops are too far apart. If it was more user friendly, I'd use it in a heartbeat. Not having to worry about parking, traffic and weather related driving conditions is a real plus. I don't mind a little walking - it's good exercise, or planning around schedules (if they're reasonable).

i like your discussion basically because i've always sworn to myself that i'd get a vehicle once i started working and not be like my parents who always said that they would rather use public transport than think about the expenses for a vehicle's gasoline. now that am older, i see that they're right. it's less tiring to use public transport since you'd just sit there. less expensive since you'd just pay for your seat and no maintenance to think of. parents really know best.

Hi krupesh,
If we have our own vehicle then there is no need to depend other means of transportation. It really helps to save our time too. If we use the public transportation then we have to wait till it comes so our planning will go upon the availability of transport but in the other case we are free to decide the time we want to leave and what time we reach etc. But I am depending on public transport for my office journey. Sometimes it is irritating to wait so long to get a bus.

I would much perfer to use my own trasportation like I have been doing for years. I do own my own car and can come and go as I please. I do not care that much for public trasportation even though I have used it in the past. buses can be crowed and sometime do not run on time.

I have no problems with public transportation, but given the option to use either private or public. I chose private because you get to your destination faster, less stops.

Hello Krupesh,
I just read the newspaper just now. The public bus transportion in my country is now occupied by foreigners who work here. This is so sock to see this. The local people shun this transport.
For me, I prefer to drive on my own. Lucky I own my own vehicle. It get more convenience to travel by own transport.

I think mostly people prefer to have own transport at the moment, however having one of it, the cost is not low as well..
As in my country, we here all owned a car which we labelled it as our 2nd pair of legs. We will not be able to go anywhere if we do not possess our own transport. Some company even requires you to have your own transport if you would like to be employed on a certain positions.
The public transport system here is not that good, hence it created more inconveniences than the other. The time of arrival for trains and buses are never on time, and sometimes we need to wait till very long and the transports are no where to be seen.
In some countries that public transport system is very good, the residents do not required to have their own transport, therefore having one consider a privilege instead.
For myself, I definitely need a own transport if I continue to live in the country of mine..

I would like either. If I'd lived in New York I would go with public transport. I guess it all depends on wether your location is huge or just a small town. If it was a small town I would use my own transportation, plus you get to go anywhere you want with it. :)

This choice is not the individual's preference. If one cannot afford own transport, one who can afford but cannot drive himself/herself and cannot keep driver, one who does not have place to park the vehicle, then except taking a public transport, no other choice. But we can substitute it with auto or taxi which will also take us to the destination place.

Since I am living in a small city, I prefer riding a public transport when going to the heart of the city because parking my car there is such a big hassle. Unlike when I ride the public transport, I can go to my destination immediately without going around in circles to find a parking space. However, when I go to other places, farther than the city, I drive my own car.

hi krupesh.
i think that depends on whether you are going to a not too busy place, it the place you will be going will not encounter heavy traffic. it also depends on what vehicle you will use. and also if you are going with some one, or you travel alone.
if it's me alone, i can bring my motorcycle. but if we go in group, say we all in the family will go, then we use public transportation. it can be taxi if within the city or metrowide, but it should be bus if going to the province.

There are advantages to both. When I have a monthly bus card, as long as the bus can taek me where I need to go in a timely manner I don't mind taking the bus. There is no parking to worry about and it's great to have someone else do the driving. SometimesI don't want to be bothered with the crowd that gets on the bus. You cannot pick and choose your passengers and some of them are not easy to get along with. Also I don't like when buses don't come on time or they pass me up if I am not right at the stop (like maybe a foot or two away). Some drivers are rude which can give you a bad attitude. Those times I would rather drive.
