There are so many indian opener couples who are getting success..and one of them is shahwag and gambhir ..they are good opener..and gave good starting to indian team.. so they provide good plateform to indian team..though they...can stand good score..to against team..

Yeh India really miss Sehwag at the top of the order. On his day he can destroy any bowling line up in the world. His presence can be demoralising for any side. Agree that Dravid and Karthik dont make a good opening pair, but the good news is that Gambhir and Tendulkar will be back. Hope they lay a solid platform for the middle order and hopefully they can capitalise on that.

Sehwag & Gambhir were the ideal opening pair for any kind of match - test, one day, 20/20 or any other new variation. A good opening is what India needs at all stages. The middle order on many occasions have crumbled very fast. At crucial times bowlers cannot defend any total because of this collapse. A good opening is as good as the won the match.

Ya . You are right. We need two players in the team like SEHWAG who can blast the opposition , no matter what the situation is . The fierce opening will make the opposition bowler's shoulders slumped at the early stage. Your view is 100% right that 20-20 has influenced ODI. Nowadays 300 + in ODI has become a normal one.

Yes you are correct. India is reeling without the opening experience of sehwag and gambhir along with the Batting Maestro Sachin Tendulkar. 20-20 impact on ODI is much high nowadays and that is all is about. If Sachin is available for the match, then the best opening pair along with him would be sehwag and Gautham gambhir can fill the Number 3 position which he used to do whenever sachin and sehwag opens. Sehwag is well known for his blitzkrieg and Master batsman Sachin can play according to the situation at ease. Yusuf pathan is fit enough to play T-20 alone. He is one unreliable player and I would prefer IRFAN PATHAN instead of Yusuf.

i think the best openers that india ever got were sehwag and gambhir, i think they were the best and the most explosive batsman around. if not sehwag and gambhir then i think sachin and sehwag will also make a really explosive pair, i really don't understand kartik opening, he's a middle order batsman, i think he's a kid he should never be playing as a opener in the team.
