When I am given a chance to have any kind of dog, I want those toy dogs that are cute and furry and cuddly and all! :) They're just the irresistible kind, Although I want those kind of breeding like german sheperd's and all, they'd definitely be great best friends and protectors. Although sometimes people can't help but stare at cute and cuddly ones, they get most of the attention :)

The downside of small dogs is that they bark far more than larger dogs. My grandparents used to own eight chihuahuas and all those dogs did was bark and yipe. I don't know how they could stand living like that. The dogs were barking and they were yelling at the dogs. That was an experience I'd never forget. At the time we owned a great dane and they're the biggest most lovable dogs ever. The sad thing about great danes is that they have a very short life span. Small dogs live longer and have less health issues. Both have their pros and cons. I just like large dogs because you can put your arm around them and its solid. Hugging a chihuahua is not the same.

Small dogs bark a lot because people let them get away with it. I have 3 chihuahuas and they do not act like typical chis. When they were very young we discouraged barking unless on command, and they do very well with that. While they are just adorable and spoiled in many ways, we don't let them get away with bahaviors that are likely to annoy other people. As a result, we have 3 charming little dogs.

I like the toy dogs as well but my friend who has a toy yorkie says that they are pron to health problems simply because of their size.
I also worry that if a dog is too small I might step on him/her or accidentally do something wrong and hurt the dog.
I usually get medium to large size dogs. I've had rottweilers, labs, mutts, and currently I have a cockapoo (cocker spaniel/poodle mix).
She is very cute and she looks like a little lion and she has big floppy ears. Everyone always wants to pet her and ask what kind of dog she is. She's the smallest dog I've ever had. She weighs about 13 pounds.
She is very spoiled, and it's all my mom's fault...okay it's a little bit my fault too, but she's a good dog.

I really can't choose if I like large or small dogs more. My favorite breed is the greyhound, but I would also love to have a Pomeranian! I just think they have so much personality. I guess I just love all dogs.
