MSI indeed is the best brand that you can get at any given price. They have wonderful features and a good warranty. I liked especially the gaming series. While HP, Dell and other companies suck at providing a good graphics solution with their laptops, MSI managed to provide great graphics from nVidia and ATI Raedon. They are also providing HDDs @ 7200 RPM which you can find very rarely in any other company laptop. Coming to the design, the design makes the MSI laptop stand out wherever it is.
You can count on MSI my friend. Here is a model if you are interested and your budget is around $1300. It is named MSI 628GT. There are other models also. You can check their prices at

I saw MSI here in the Philippines, actually dont like its style in physical look unlike the other brand, you can see the goodness when you holding it physically but what about the features inside, i dont judged it, what if MSI are much better than the others?

If not MSI, you can go for Acer also. They too provide good laptops at reasonable prices. Infact I happen to use an acer laptop now and is satisfied with it but I still feel that it would have been better if it was MSI. By the time I took this laptop, MSI was not in India.

Dell is one of the most reliable brand of laptop, it is more flexible, several years of guarantee, a bit expensive but very good one, I had one which lasted for 12 years and then this year I bought a new Dell which I am sure will stay with me for many more years.

Hi, shellback. I'm using Neo notebook limited edition it is not as expensive as other brands but it's worth it. I think what is more important is its soothes your needs. Why buying those expensive one with great features if you don't know how to use those, right? I rarely use my notebook because it's heavy.

Hi shellback.
I haven't heard about MSI . But I guess HP, Compaq, Dell, Acer, could be taken as the top Notebook brands in the world. If you want to go for Notebooks that have a great design and style then I would suggest you to go withe Dell. Dell has quite a few models with them namely the Dell XPS, Dell Studio laptops. They have very beautifull designs and are quite sleek. The best part with Dell is you can customize your Laptop to your specification and the customization is the best compared to other brands. Dell also has the Inspiron model which is in the slightly lower range of budget and Inspiron also comes with over 6 to 7 vibrant and beautifull colors. I hardly know of any brand that offers you so many colors to choose from along with a customization to your need option. There customer service and technical support is also really very good.
Take Care :)

Elow shellback,
The widely used laptop here in our country is acer and neo, this are the leading brands here in Philippines. But my question what are your specifications? what features do you like in a laptop, Because you must know what are the specifications you need in a laptop, Like Sony, sony vaio is one of the expensive laptops today because of their brand a lot of people like to buy it, but did they think if they can use all the features of the laptop? Actually to be practical all laptops are the same your questioning in your mind why is it that the others are cheaper and others are expensive? Its because of the brand, like Apple by Macintosh these laptop cost here in the Philippine not lesser than 20 thousand pesos.
Here's the tip: 1st know what you want, 2nd know the software that you will install 3rd Can I afford it? 4th decide and choose the best laptop that is fitted in 1st and 2nd.
That's it and you'll be happy with your laptop.
Thanks.. Take care.

I really don't know all that much about brands of laptops, as I have only owned cmpaq, and now I own a gateway. Some people like Dell and some don't. M daughter has used a Dell and she liked it. right now she has a Gateway, and she just had the hard drive replaced as it crashed on her and it is less than a year old. I got hers when I got mine, and I haven't had the problem she has, and we both have the same computer. I really didn't like Compaq all that well. I really do like my Gateway, as it id does everything I need it to do, so I have no complaints. I think when it ocmes to computers, it really all depends on what you plan on using if for and what you want on it. Take care and happy mylotting.

Yeah its true it depends to a user, but some of the makers of computer are having thier trademarks as a sign of qualities and durability, maybe we can say that it depends to a user but it also depends on the brand because brands speak for its qualities.
