This is a fantatic idea - then it wouldn't take so long for the money to go into our bank accounts - even if they just issued us with an atm card so we could withdraw our money from an atm or purchase using eftpos - this would be great...I know I'd be one of the first to use it.

They pretty much all ready do this! I've had a paypal mastercard for a few months now and it even works at the grocery store here in Mexico! It's a debit card and works at all the ATMs and the Dollar to peso conversion is very fair! tdemex

I'd say that it is the online style of banking. Practically no overhead and very small service charges per use. (I take PayPal & VISA/MC so there are fees associated with this). I like that it's online cash. It's convenient and yes, conversion is very fair as well. I don't think I'd like for it to become like the mainstream banking. Look at all the prior bailouts. They should leave things alone for now... maybe an evolution of sorts later where I can have my paycheck directly deposited into the account and to be able to have a better billpay system. But other than that, nay. I like it how it is.

I doubt they would do that because they had always been a third party between bank and user yea , they won't be able to do that if they had a banking system .

It is a banking system, for internet users. However, I guess it doesn't want to spread into mainstream banking. Just think of all the extra charges we users would have to cope with. I for one think Paypal is good just as is is and hope it never expands..

i think they should. So it will be easy for me to cash in the money in my paypal balance, and off course, because it is a bank, they dont charge money for cashing in the money from the paypal balance. $1.6 every time i cashing in my money is quite a lot. Is it hard to make money in the net, and they charge me too for cashing in. ( Well if they make a bank, i hope there is a branch in my contry, because if its not, then itu doesnt matter to me ) Well that my 2 cent
