Are you a daydreamer?

I've been a daydreamer for as long as I can remember. I started when I was really young, and usually put a lot of thought into my daydreams. I'd daydream about being someone important, rich, and famous.. or at least just popular. All the things I felt I was lacking in my real life. I guess you can say I've been pretty depressed most of my life, always feeling as if I've had it rough. My daydreams helped me to escape from my reality and would help me to feel better. My outlook on life has gotten better over the past few years. I'm much happier with where I am, and I'm even coming to terms with how I got here. But it's still hard to stop myself from daydreaming. I still dream of being rich and popular... at least I no longer daydream of finding my true love, there's one thing that I do have in my real life is a wonderful husband. Do you daydream about things you don't have in your real life? Or do you try to stick with the reality of things and appreciate what you do have?

I too was a day dreamer but have mostly stopped these last few years. I still have a few like having a big yellow house, a car and a few kids. But that is likely never to happen. I have had a few daydreams crushed so that is why I just don't do it as much. Maybe it is because I am depressed alot of the time, and have got to the point that I feel it a waste of time to weave dreams that won't ever be fulfilled. But I shouldn't give up on them so easily I know. But it sometimes makes me more depressed to realize the dreams will never come true.

That is why I typically daydream about things that I know won't happen, such as being famous. Even if given the chance I would not want to be famous, so I know that's all just fantasy. But I know what you mean. Recently I was daydreaming about winning the lottery and how I'd spend that money, and all the things I'd buy my kids. When I snapped out of the daydream I was very depressed to find I was still broke!!

My husband has tried the lotto several times and we would do the same..but it never happened and your right when you do things like that it can be more depressing. We all want the best for our kids or the best we can give them..and fulfill their wants and needs and it can be depressing when we can't. I am the same way with my little sister I will go without just to get what she needs even though I am just a big sister. But love always makes us do that. She might be eight but since I can't have kids..I try to never make her go without if I can help it like I had to alot of times while growing up. I helped raise her so in a way I feel that she is half mine and would do anything for her if it was possible. We are closer then most mothers and daughters and I feel we are connected and not just by the sisterly bond.

I do understand what u r saying, but that is just fantasy! If we could all make it like this then we would! There is nothing wrong with feeling this way. U r obviously going through some tough times! It is ok!! Everything will be fine. U just have a lot on ur mind. Just know that this part of life is 2 make u stronger in life. We all have the toughest times 2 go through in order 2 prepare us for the real life! If it is about some1 special don't wait 2 long b4 u tell her that u think about her! U don't want 2 wait till its 2 long cuz u don't want her 2 be gone 4ever. If things don't work out then it wasn't meant 2 b!! I wish u the best of luck either way! Dream all u can u don't want 2 waste ur imagination! U are not lazy!! U r normal!

I used to be.....but not so much anymore.....I am too busy. That's right....I still work full time and have been persuing what I used to daydream about...I waited until I raised my three kids by myself...then just went for it.....now it's to the point where I have so much to do I am finding that I don't know how to have much down time.....so I live in the reality of things.

I too have always been a daydreamer, from being a child. My brain is always on the go. I would say that when I daydream it is not necessarily because I want the things in them but its just nice to have somewhere to go so to speak when life is a bit tough. My daydreams tend to be stories and I create them and then add to them each time I have them, I should write them down really instead of just keeping them in my head but its getting the time to do that.

I find myself daydreaming about things I believe are posssible. I just don't know how. If I could have anything in this world, it would be the ability to fly, and that's what I dream about a lot...flying around the world. I hear you on the husband thing, although for me it's the other way around. :) I believe humans have had (in one time long ago) the ability to fly, but it was taken from us when we fell in Eden. Many times, people were not only documented as levitating, but actually flying! So that's what I daydream about all the time. Someday, I hope it becomes reality... Dive Deep!

I like to daydream and just let my mind wander to wherever it wants to go. I am okay with where I am in life right now and I don't think daydreaming means I'm unhappy with that. Sometimes I just like to lay on the bed and daydream about horses, the beach, things that I really like or even things that have happened to me that where neat. I do sometimes daydream about being rich, winning the lottery but I think that's just fun.

Everyone daydreams. Even the rich and the famous daydream too. I think this is because man was made to see what he does and does not have. For the things that he has, he could daydream to improve them. For the things that he does not, he would daydream to have or experience them. I daydream a lot. I am contented with my life. I am also happy with everything I have. But that did not stop me from daydreaming. After all dreams spark the magnificent things we have in life. They help us realize what we want to achieve then we start doing things to act on the daydreaming we do. Daydreaming is a good hobby if used as an inspiration and not as a full-day activity. It can also be something that can just cheer you up when you're down. I sometimes find myself daydreaming about things that I know won't ever happen and it's funny how you can catch yourself smiling too. :)

daydreaming is like visioning what we can possibly can. i do that a lot and i know i can achieve those things i daydream about if i do the things necessary to achieve what was in my daydreams. some are just not impossible and i just don't indulge in daydreams that are not possible. i believe i can be blessed and be rich in life and get things i wanted for so long in my life, the only that is stopping me from getting those things is myself. i do have to believe in myself and also i do need to sacrifice things or time to achieve them . but i was quite lazy though and didn't exert effort to reach them. but actually i know what are the things i should do to reach them. i have concrete steps actually and i am very sure it is the way to success but the sacrifice is quite high too. so that is why i didn't just easily get it cause i am not yet prepared for the sacrifice to reach that dream.

All of my life. I still daydream sometimes when driving. But day dreaming is o.k. and I wrote many stories that came to mind whilst day dreaming. Yes it is escape butt then so many activities are an escape from the world - even reading. I sometime dream of having no money problems - like this will ever happen!

Definitely yes, and I believe all of us are! And for the critics, there's nothing wrong with being a daydreamer.

I was a constant daydreamer as a child. I guess I still am today. Somebody will be talking to me and I just drift off into my own little world. I don't necessarily dream about being rich. My daydreams tend to veer off into being a movie star or a rock star. Gotta dream big!

hi katsmeow, i am an Indian, first of all, i want to tell the definition of a daydreamer: a dream like musing or fantasy while awake, especially for the fulfillment of wishes or hopes. so, i want to say that, Daydreams as a Source of Innovation & Motivation.. very likely, what a person does during a boring speech or at the time of faking attention is to daydream.

i think all people is a daydreamer, and you don't feel ashamed to be a daydreamer. The important things is don't lose your personality, because some famous people reach their fame started from being a daydreamer.

I am not a day dreamer but i have dealt with many such fellows.I don't agree with the fact that it is good to be a day dreamer ,It removes us from the hands of reality which even though pleasant now ,we will face no. of days of repeated hard work .That is the original reality from which no one can escape......................
