Dedicating songs to your lover

Is it cheesy or just the right way to express how you feel in a romantic way? I had The One by Gary Allen dedicated to me. I think it is a good way to let your partner know how you feel without being shy about it. What do you think?

My boyfriend plays guitar and he wrote a song for me and played it too on his guitar and when he sung the song it was just memorable to me, he dedicated that obviously for me which is still a very genuine approach from his love for me.

Hi, Mommawolf!I never actually had a song dedicated to my sweetheart on the radio or had one dedicated to me by him. However, I will say it is an amazingly lovely gesture and I would love it if he were to do that for me. I don't think either of us would feel shy about it. "The One" is an excellent song. Great choice! While my sweetheart and I haven't dedicated songs to each other, we do have songs that we consider "our songs". One of his songs for me is "Waiting For A Girl Like You" by Foreigner and one of my songs for him is "Bobby's Girl" by Marcy Blaine (yes, his name is Robert!). If I were to dedicate a song to him on the radio,I think I would pick that one.:-)

I had a song dedicated to my wife as well, and they played it on our wedding too... It's always with me, always with you by Joe Satriani... It's just a guitar instrumental but she loved it!

Well, for me it's one way of expressing how you feel for your partner. There are songs that exactly describes how you feel for someone or how you feel for the moment. I find it romantic having a song dedicated to your love one.
