Has anyone heard anything (good and bad please!) about the University of Hawaii / Manoa campus? I'm truly considering applying for Fall of 2010 but I'd like to hear some opinions and experiences from people who know a little more about it than I.
Got anything that might help me?
Any experiences or anything you've heard in the media?
Any help is appreciated!

No I have never heard of this college but it definitely sounds like something I want to check out. A really good friend of mine lives out there and I wouldn't mind going there for a year and maybe taking some classes there. I'll definitely be sure to check it out soon.

Well, hey, you should check it out! I'm sadly midwestern and looking to get out of my comfort zone, and Hawaii seems like the right place to do it. You should definitely check it out, though. Tuiton seems almost reasonable (compared to schools in my state). Here's the link (not a ref. link), if you wanted to check it out:

Hello! I'm currently a sophomore at Hawaii Pacific University. I've been to the UH Manoa campus a few times- it's so beautiful! It made me a little jealous because the campus is so much better than HPU's! If you want a school with a Big-10 feeling but without the pressure, I think UH is a good choice. The tuition is low, and the campus is enormous. There are tons of campus halls, dorms, study buildings, student lounges, etc. It seems like it's got a great social vibe. There are a lot more mainlanders in UH as opposed to HPU, which (as a mainlander myself) may be a comfort to you. As far as the downsides, the class sizes are much larger than HPU's. But if you're comfortable with the large seminars, that shouldn't be a problem. Another upside UH has on HPU is the sports. UH has a football team, so there's a whole other community opportunity there. Overall, seems like a great school from what I've experienced.
