50 First Dates - would you do this for your spouse, too?

I was watching 50 First Dates last night with my friend, and it got me thinking. It's not the first time I've seen it, but for some reason I was pensive about it. Would I do something like this for my spouse? (Hypothetically, of course, because I DON'T have a spouse). Thinking of how much time and effort Adam Sandlers' character put into trying to help Drew Barrymore's character remember.. I just can't imagine if doing something like that would ever be worth it.
Is this horribly selfish of me?
And here's a re-cap for those of you who aren't familiar with the movie: A guy (Adam Sandler) falls in love with a girl (Drew Barrymore), who has short-term memory problems: after a car accident, she suddenly can't remember anything after a certain date (her father's birthday), so the guy character has to "remind" her every single day in creative ways.
Do you think love is strong enough to conquer this kind of thing?
Would you do something like this for your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend?

I really liked this movie alot (my wife says I like chic flicks), and I thought that the Sandman was very good. I would do this for my wife if I had, and I am sure that she would do the same for me. I understand it would be hard to do, and take up alot of time out of your day, nor would it be easy. But, it would be worth it to fall back in love with the person you love everyday.

Sandman is what he likes his friends to call him. If you listen to the Dan Patrick show, that is what everyone calls him.

We were just discussing this movie today at work, and could most people go thru something like this, and be Happy? Personally I think this would be hard to have to go thru, and how can you imagine it being the same everyday with you having to tell them everything again? It would truly have to be a special kind of Love but truthfully when you really Love someone you would do anything in your power to keep them Happy so this is what happens from here as well. Yes, for anyone who has never seen this one, it is a Great movie not to miss for sure.

This is one of my favorite movies to watch. I don't know how many times I've watched it, but it's been a lot lol. One of the things I like best about the movie is Adam Sandler's characters way of handling the love of his life. One could only ever hope to find this type of true undying love in their lifetime! I have seen this selfless kind of undying love in many seniors I've taken care of over the years. (I was a home hospice nurse) You could see the exact same type of attitude: undying love and devotion, patience with a spouse who cannot even remember who they are anymore, and things like that. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all loved, and were loved back, that way?! Now that's true love in action!

I know this is going to sound 100 percent selfish but I don't know if I would spend every day of my life making a person remember me and fall inlove with me over and over again. I think after awhile I would want them to remember something no matter how small it was. I love this movie and think that its totally sweet what Adam Sandler's character did. However I wondered how he explained to her that she was pregnant everyday because at the end they were married with a kid.

yes i would. what adam sandler did in the movie was really sweet. it just goes to show much he loves and cares for drew barrymore. i think if your love for a particular person is really strong, you will be able to do things like that.
