Did you know that a turtle can breathe out of its butt? That Cleopatra married two of her brothers? Compact discs read from the inside to the outside edge, the reverse of how a record works. What kind of useless facts do you know?

I had to do something!! I keep running into things on here that are either wayyy too serious or wayyy too boring, so I thought we could all use a laugh!! When you think of one, let me know! I like throwing these in the middle of a conversation when someone is going to get over emotional!! Oh....and did you know that the only 15 letter word that can be spelled without repeating a letter is uncopyrightable?!?!

I never knew a turtle could breathe out of its butt LOL. Oh my, Cleopatra married two of her brothers? That is sick. That is neat about the compact discs. This may be a useless fact to many but a helpful fact to alot of people. Did you know there are tabs to push in on the ends of a reynolds wrap box, that will hold the aluminum foil inside of the box instead of it pulling out sometimes?

I didn't know about the tabs on the reynolds wrap and I've been using it for years, my mom used it when I was a kid, too and I never knew this!! wow!!

A turtle can breath out of its butt? Now that's interesting hehe.. Yeah, I'm more of the opposite that I find these kinds of facts interesting. Facts that very few people knew about and less interesting to many, that's the kind of information I would like to know. In general, I find all facts interesting and there are none that I could think of that are useless. Ciao!

Maybe you're right, not that they're really useless, because I use a lot of them when someone is upset and needs a good laugh or someone is being "oh so serious" and just jumping into the conversation with something off the wall makes them relax a little. What else could we use this info for? But yeah....a turtle can breathe through their butt (or cloaca) I learned this when I was reading up on turtles, we got one and I didn't know anything about them and that's one of the things I learned!!

The only one I can think of right now is about tips given at restaurants...the word "tips" in this instance stands for "To insure prompt service" and many years ago tips were given BEFORE the service was performed. I think it originated in England.
