I usually have a bank account to place my 10% savings every month and for the coins, I put it in a bottle so that all my loose change everyday goes there and if I already accumulated it, I will also deposite it in the bank account.

Mostly in the bank. I have two different savings accounts, and I thinking of opening a third. I also save all my change, and put it in a big plastic bottle (that way you can't get the money out without cutting the bottle open and ruining it).

I just recently stop collecting coins. I am starting to circulate it so that the government would no longer need to create a new sets of coins :)

saving money in the bank is good but the interest you earn there is really so small. I suggest you look for a thrift bank or cooperative instead of a commercial bank because they give higher interest and the same security as a commercial bank. You may also try to buy stocks if you are good at financing or investing. It is really so difficult to save especially if you have a fixed income and a lot of fixed expenses too!

Where do you invest yours? How long have you been investing to stocks? I also want to invest in stock but I am a little scare to do it. A financial planner friend told me that I am risk averse type so I should just focus to not so risky investment.

Hi larish. Well, I always save my money in bank. I used ATM machine to deposit my money. I don't like to queue up to put my money in bank.

Before I used to just have it with me in my house for safe keeping. But these days, it's different already. I already have a son and I have plans to go our way with our own house. All these have brought me to open another savings account with the bank. Not just for myself but also for my son. Since he also receives money, I will then deposit all that there. So I just recently forwarded all my money to the bank near my place hoping that I can save more when the money is out of reach.

How I wish I have money to save every month.. I am a housewife, spend on credit card which husband suppose to pay. However, to answer your question - YES, I save it in the bank. I have saving passbook which has very little money. If I managed to accumulate up to RM500, then I will transfer it to Fixed Deposit (FD) because FD earns a slightly better interest rate compared to normal saving!
