Desperate for a Job? How desperate would you be to get one?

When things get rough, I pull out the garage sale sign. I contact a couple of temp agencies to work for. Since I have typing skills it always comes in handle for a backup. I'm not a quitter, so I'll always keep going. In a desperate situation, everyone would know that I need a job because I'd tell everyone I talk to that I'm in need of one. "A closed mouth don't get feed" and "Man don't work, man don't eat".

After I moved to the uk I have not worked for over one year. I did try many times, but no answer. Now I can say I’m desperate for a job mentally, but not financially. My husband works now so we have comfortable life. However I still need work and be back to society. I know my disadvantage is my English ability. So now I’m keen to improve my English and I think one day I can find a decent job. I still have confidence with myself.

I was made redundant during the previous recession that affected my home country in the early 1990s. It can be soul destroying to apply for lots and lots of jobs and not get one. Then the person might be nervous at any interviews he or she goes to. I decided to let out my home, get a working holiday visa for Australia and buy an around the world air ticket. Whilst in Australia I worked with some children. I came back home did temporary work and extra studying. Then I went to university as a mature student. Since I came out of that education I became a primary school teacher. So with money travel is the answer, without much money temporary work is a great idea. It would be clerical work in an office, child care or charity collecting. It is excellent to help a worthy charity.

I have also tried the temp agencies but noting I have put many applications but no answer. I was called to go back to my job but it was just for 1 or 2 days I week and I was happy about it because it was better than noting but now I have two week with nothing and I called my manager and he told me that “maybe in a few months” so that is what he told me and all I got was one month of work and only one or two days a week. I don’t have things to sale or I would have a yard sale but I try every single day to make some kind of profit online and I also look for jobs online and when ever I get to go out I do apply in person also. The worst thing is that the only car we have is with another mechanic since the first one charged use but never got it fixed because after I got it out it broke down again so now I have to wait and see if this mechanic can give me time to pay him after he is done.
