It seems these days there are 3 top players on teams in the NBA such the Lakers Bryant,Gasol, and Odom or the Spurs Duncan,Parker, and Ginobli. Also the Big 3 of the Celtics. Theres no need to say who the Big 3 are. You could say it was Ming and Artest when he was playing for the Rockets or Boozer and Willams in Utah. I can really say who were the best 1,2 Punch last season in the NBA. I can take a really good guess who will be the top 2 players on one team this coming season in the NBA. I think its going to be Bryant and Artest. I don't know maybe it will be James and O'neal for the Cavs but the Lakers still got too many good players besides Bryant and Artest. I think the Lakers will be the ones to most likely repeat as Champions.

The best one-two punch in the NBA is probably, Kobe and Gasol. Both guys compliment very well on offense and on the defensive end. Both guys attract the double team on offense which could lead to easy offense for one of them. Each player can also take on a game when they know that the other is struggling. Kobe and Gasol are perfect for each other just like when Shaq was the one guarding the paint for the Lakers.

currently i agree with you. at least the work together better now that kobe isn't feuding with his own center. just imagine how much better kobe and shaq would of been if they would have worked better with one another. they would of at least been somewhat better then they actually were.

Maybe. The problem between the two was jealousy. At that time, Kobe was starting to think that he was better than Shaq, that Shaq was getting old, and that he should be batman instead of robin in their team. Shaq was also starting to get out of shape and Kobe was doing everything, to the point of showboating, to earn recognition as the best player playing that time. I guess it was better for the two to separate and move on. Jerry Buss took the liberty of keeping Kobe because he was younger and still had a lot of juice than Shaq. But to me, Shaq and Kobe will always be my best one-two punch the NBA has ever witnessed.

Utah Jazz - Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer just only bother by injuries last season. Shaq and James the anticipated dynamic duos in the coming season for the Cavs. Gasol, Artest and Kobe are the new super trios. The Celtics trios are healthy, too. At least all teams have one - two punch on their respective rosters.

The Boston Celtics, I think has the deepest line up of All-Stars and future Hall of Famers in the persons of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Rasheed Wallace. The Celtics can have different 1-2 punch combinations around these four players. It can be Garnett and Pierce, Pierce and Allen, Allen and Wallace, Wallace and Garnett in the frontcourt.
The Celtics missed Garnett's presence during their Eastern Conference Finals with the Orlando Magic. Given with this current lineup against the Magic, do you think they will lost those games? Garnett has been the cornerstone of Boston's defense. Defense has been their major weapons against NBA teams. With the addition of Rasheed to the team, the Celtics has become a formidable interior defensive team.
In the offensive department, the Big 3 has been able to share the scoring loads for the team. Allen is still the deadly shooter from downtown, Pierce create havoc in the other teams interior defense with his intrusion as well as defensive capability to shutdown opponent's scorer in the 2 to 3 positions. Rasheed is a reliable scorer anytime of the day. He can shoot the lights out of any NBA arena on a given night. But he is more aggressive in his no-holds barred attitude against opponents.
LeBron and Shaq might be a good combinations but reliability from outside will still be a questions for the Cavs as well as ability of Shaq to run against younger NBA players.
Kobe and Artest with Gasol are good combinations for an All Star defensive team. But I think the combo formed by this three All Stars are ain't enough to match up against the aging(?) Fantastic Four of the Boston Celtics.

As a Magic fan I'm going to go with the Orlando Magic. The Magic have the best center in the NBA (Dwight Howard). The rest of the Magic's starting lineup could be a star on any team in the Association. Below is my argument:
Jameer Nelson was playing like the best shooting point guard before he was injured. Anyone who watched the NBA Finals can argue that Nelson was nowhere near starting quality, but if you consider the impact he had at the beginning of the season, you will realize how many games he won for the team and how important he was.
Rashard Lewis was an absolute nightmare for any team. He not only played out of position, but he made defending teams pay dearly for it. He was effective offensively and defensively.
Vince Carter: sure he has been given flak in the past about his defense but he is a killer offensively. Take into consideration that he is now playing with the Defensive Player of the Year, his defensive laps will be forgiven, because Mr. Howard is at the rim protecting the basket.
I truly believe it is too hard to pick just two players. The Magic have a big 4.
