There can be explanations for stuff like this. Such teenagers getting taller or maybe health problems. I heard for older people rapid weight loss can be a sign of Alzheimers Disease. Do you have an unexplainable reason that caused your weight loss?

I control my weight by eating carfully .I used to have a physical job of a cook, which meant early mornings on your feet all day, then a mile walk home.Since giving up work I tend to pile it on a bit quick rather than lose it ,My friends son lost so much weight and he turned out to be diabetic. My son has never been very big but just recently he has shot up in height and is like a bean pole bless him.He needs a belt to hold his trousers up but he gets the leg lenghth but not the waist.

When I was in college (majoring in Spanish), one summer I went to Mexico. That was the summer I lost so much weight, my clothes were just hanging on me! I think it was because everything was exciting, my metabolism finally was working FOR me! In fact, I had to buy some clothes so I wouldn't look so bad! I think it was more because of the excitement of being in another country, new sights, sounds, experiences plus new foods!

When i went through divorce, i lost 2 stone, it dropped off me.
It was the stress of it all, nervous energy, it makes the weight drop off, really quick.
My friend is going through the same right now, and she has lost 2 stone, in a matter of weeks, but she is very stressed out right now, and this is the reason why.

I started going to my college and my weight was decreasing rapidly, it was becos of walking long distances as my college was far away and going and coming was done by foot.I was very happy with my weight loss.
Now since my college is over, my weight has started increasing.

I have never lost any weight without trying. I have to work very hard at it to make it happen. I wish I could lose some weight without trying so hard. Sickness does cause weightloss sometimes too though.

Hey elmiko! There are alot of reasons that people can lose
weight! Sometimes change in ones diet can be the reason for
weight loss and stress can also be a reason. It depends on
the amount of weight loss whether one should be concerned or
not. If there is rapid weight loss and it is in a large quantity
then one should seek medical attention just in case.

hello, yes, trust me i don't like to loss weight at all, but I am that kind of people who gain weight easily and lose weight easily as well. When I fall sick, or when I work harder for serveral days, I would loss weight without any try! But everybody says that I am more prettier before I loss weight, so I would rather keep myself fatter a little bit. But not too fat.

I think so when Im stressed with work and problems. Our body adapts to stress by losing appetite, lack of sleep and constantly sick. With these, you will not realized that you're losing weight. I had bouts with stress and my body reacts actively to it, thus, making me lose some pounds.
I am not advocating that we must be always in stress-mode to lose weight without trying it. Lose weight through normal procedures to maintain our body rhythm.

it seems to me somebody is more than likely to gain weight in such an environment
as stress increase cortisol levels which is the stress hormone. people are more than likely to turn to food when under such stress and gain weight. is very possible to lose muscle mass in such a state. muscle is heavier than fat even in
smaller portions. people react differently though depending on the circumstances.

Maybe a pound here and there during those months when life just gets too expensive (we eat smaller meals sometimes to save money). It's not like we starve ourselves or anything, just that we don't eat as much as we typically would,, during a more prosperous month.
