Has the Lowered Price of the PS3 Motivated You To Buy It?

If you don't got a Blu-Ray Player and you want one you might as well just buy a Ps3 for about the same price. The Ps3 comes with a Blu-Ray Player. Theres an even sweater deal to tis though for people who don't have an Xbox 360 as it was also lowered right after the lowering of the PS3. I'm not motivated to get a Ps3.

This is an interesting discussion and I am sure there are a lot of people who have the PlayStation 3,or are planning on buying it because of the price drop,I personally do not plan on buying the PlayStation 3,because I am not that into it,or into Sony games,I am more into Microsoft and Nintendo and me and my wife have an X-box 360,and an Nintendo Wii and they are both really awesome, and we love playing them, and we just recently got the Wii because the price dropped, and I bought it for my wife for an early Christmas present because it is something she has been wanting, have a great day, good luck with your life, and all of your mylotting goals, and Happy Posting.

I was thinking about getting one when they first came out but it was SO expensive. I also waited a long time before getting my Xbox 360. I got the arcade version. I think I'll get the Playstation 3 eventually because I want to play Infamous, Uncharted 1 & 2, Metal Gear Solid 4,Bioshock (even though I have it for Xbox 360). Do all Playstation 3 games have Trophies?

Trophies/accomplishments or whatever they are called are like Xbox 360 Achievements. You get points for doing certain things.

Not at all. I don't feel the slightest need for a blu-ray player, or anything else right now. I have a computer with DVD and that's good neough for me right now.

Funny I get this today for I priced some blurays yesterday and no way I would buy one at the price there are now! $200 was the cheapest and little and flat lol I know they dont have to be big but that price is way to high for a normal person on SS

We have always had and used a PS2. We will not be buying a PS3 either. I may buy a blue-ray disc player some time down the road though. We just use a regular DVD player for now.

I have all 3 main consoles (Wii, 360 and PS3). I bought the 360 myself when there was a really good deal on, my Wii was a birthday gift from my girlfriend and my PS3 came free with my phone contract. If there are games across platforms I generally prefer the Xbox 360 to the others. I don't actually have any games at all for the PS3! I do, however, have many blu rays I bought for it, and as my TV is fully 1080p I must admit they do look amazing compared to standard DVDs!
Some people are not bothered about high def and if it's a good film it will still be good at DVD definition. This is a very valid argument, I'm a techno geek though so I can't help liking the highest I can get :)

It's true, blurays are a lot at the moment. I'm really only buying my favourite films and programs right now. When they're cheaper I'll buy lots more.
The 360 is awesome for games :) I also like my Wii a lot too.

To a point yeah, I'll be grabbing one of these 299 120gig ones. But the price wasn't so much the kicker as the fact that my brother brought his over and we sat around with a session or three of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. That's what made me decide hey, it might actually be time to upgrade to a current generation console.
