How often do you tell kids white lies?

Most of the time, I told white lies to my nieces and nephews just to make them behave, or when they asked things I didn't know.LOL I don't think it's really bad. When I was a kid during Christmas my mom would asked me to hang my socks on the Christmas Tree because Santa Claus would come and put gifts on my socks. I was so excited to wake up in the morning and very happy knowing that Santa Claus did give me a gifts.LOL Do you think it is okay to tell kids white lies? What are the common white lies you said?

I don't tell kids lies. I often tell them the truth. If they would not behave I don't lie to them rather I make them do something or tell them interesting and funny story just to keep them behaved.
