$ 2000 car.. would you buy it?

Tata group of India came out a month back with the cheapest car in the world. They made promise to give Indians 100,000 rs ( 2000$ nearly as of todays exchange rates), so it is very small car and is very good on fuel about 25 kms per litre of petrol. How many would you actually like to buy it? Car named Tata Nano.

I guess you're a rich person there. Tata Nano was designed with a goal in mind. Give the possibility to own a car to the millions families that are too much poor to can afford any other kind of car.
If you are actually riding a motorbike because you can't afford a car, and with that motorbike you transport your wife, your 2 childs and some packs, I guess you could be really happy to can buy a so cheap car. In that case I don't guess you would like to judge too much the design, but you will care about the fact that, finally, you can have mobility without needing to arrive in your destination totally wet when is raining ;)

Well it is a small car and looks more like Zen estelo when seen from a distance and when i first saw it in delhi road i thought hey it looks zen but looks little different and when that car came close to me then i saw the sticker which said Tata Nano.

Hi sweetie,
Tata Nano has been launched with lots and lots of expectations behind it and i have seen it only in the car fair in jan 2008. I know it has been most awaited car and it has been surrounded by controversies since the day of it was conceived. But now car is out and it does have good rating as far as the engine goes but it is too small a car for my liking. Not that i was a big car but not this small. It is great on mileage, super on price, though doesnt give much speed but then do can we drive speed more than 50 KMPH in Delhi? Over all a great car but not for me. If they bring it out in bigger size i would buy it simply because it is 100% Indian and none of its part is not made in India. But everyone who likes this car should buy it so the workers of this factory can keep the job and like other Indians be prosperous and happy.

Hi hero,
yes tata nano has expectation of millions and millions of people and i have seen this car on the road, it was next to mine in a traffic jam and since it is so tiny, it went miles ahead of mine in few minutes in the traffic jam, I love this car and i am sure lots and lots of females would like it and it would be like a second or a third family car.

Wow what a steal! If we would see this here ,I am positives we would jump on it with the prices of gas. I am not sure about the conversion for the mileage you have written there but will convert.I am just wondering if it would be safe being on a major highway for a hour and a half

thanks for the response and yes it is a steal and since it is from tata group of India who are known to not cost you a lot when you go for service or repairs so it is going to be a cheap car to maintain too. Well it is basically a city car. Doesnt have much speed . I think it wont touch 60 miles per hour and 25 km per liter would be about 16 miles per litre and if one american gallon is 3.8 liter then it is about 60 miles to a gallon. so i calculated for you. check it out how much your car gives in city riding.

Hello. How are you ? I have read about this car, a special model of Tata Group of India. This is certainly very interesting, cheap, and fuel saving. There are similar cars running here in Canada too. I don't know how the fuel saving is. People are getting more and more interested because the fuel price has been rising all the time in recent months.

thanks for responding to my discussion and yes it is from Tata Group who are more in to making trucks and buses though they do have cars and their Tata Indica and Tata Indigo are very popular in India. But it is too small for taste of North Americans who are used to real big cars.
