well, how does that explain that this was one of the hottest summers in Texas, the 2nd highest number of 100's in recorded history, only during the 1920's did they have more - and only 1 more than this year - but this year and last year we had almost as many hot days as the record heat in the 1920's -

According to our state climate data center, the 20s was the decade with the most "coldest" summers here in Wisconsin. :~D

Even here in Tennessee it has been cooler this year, it has been nice not having all the 90 degree weather we usually have, but the nights have been way to cool. and we have had way to much rain this summer. I have the feeling that we are going to have a cold winter which i am not looking forward to.

I'm hoping a mild winter will follow our mild summer and sort of balance things out here in Tennessee.

It isn't just Wisconsin, a lot of areas recorded their coldest summer or record matching cold. And it isn't just here, global temperatures have been steadily falling for a decade. There hasn't been any global warming in a decade.
Now, the scientists who believe in global warming have scrambled to explain this and have come up with all new computer models that show that global warming will return with a vengeance. First it was going to be in 2009, then they postponed it for ten years and now the projections are 30 years from now and upwards.
Now, you can believe these computer models of the future climate, but there's just one problem. The whole theory was built on computer models but not one of them ever showed this cooling trend. Their computer models of a few years ago contained no hint of a rapid cooling trend that would last for a DECADE or more.
The most famous computer model, the Hockey Stick Graph that featured prominently in Al Gore's movie, was proven to be inaccurate. The computer program that created it was written to automatically exclude any data that didn't fit the hockey stick shape. Therefore, many years of varying temperatures didn't even show up. If they had, it would have looked more like a range of mountains.
The claims of James Hansen that 1998 was the hottest year on record were also debunked. Records show that 1934 was the hottest year in the last century, which occurred BEFORE 1940, the year that carbon was supposed to have started increasing with industrialization.
If the science were so exact and so compelling, why do they need to lie about it and use manufactured data and faulty computer models?

hi parated2k well let me send you all the hot hot fall days we have had here in sunny hot dry Ca, I would love a few 60ties just to remember what it felt like to be cool, and whats worse, it will be hot still in oct here when we have all the arsonist nuts who just love to see flames so they set wild fires that destroy woods, and homes, and people's lives, our summer months werent so bad but come aug sept and oct, its nuts here, dry and hot, and if we have the Santa Anas in oct with the wild fires it will be hellish for our people. The Santa Ana winds are just horrible and fan the flames until thousands of acres of land are on fire,

And then there's the problem is Santa Clara... all those vampires! ;~D
I hear you though, I remember those hot, harsh days and nights when I was a wild land firefighter. Glad they finally got the best of those fires out your way.

nice example of climate change there ted - one of the coldest in recorded history eh? how is that meant to back up your arguement which i would guess is that it's all a hoax? or a konspiracy perhaps. weather changes across the world are part of it - and not always just getting hotter - climate is not that simple. however will do what everybody does in politics and pass you on a link. climate change for dummies from new scientist. (couldn't find what i needed in wnd, sorry): http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn11462-climate-change-a-guide-for-the-perplexed.html

Nice picking and choosing the words you want to read there. ;~D
I asked if there was global climate change during the 6 cooler summers.
Guess which decade had the most record breaking cool summers? The 1920s. So what caused the global climate change then?

I'm not nit picking here, I'm pointing out that, while there might be climate change going on, it's not only not the worst change in recent history, it's pretty common.
So before we go destroying economies and lives with farcicle doomsday scenarios, let's actually look into why the climate changed in the 20s.. then maybe we can understand why it's changing today.
Since you are so knowledgeable and well-read, can you explain why the decade with the most "coolest summers" happened in the 20?

i can't be bothered nitpicking here ted. climate change is happening, needs to be stopped from escalating, it's not a konspiracy and is actually pretty serious. read up on it a bit unless you are getting sufficient bribes from the oil companies. i assume you have kids - guess who's going to get the results? i know you are going to try and argue but to be honest until you spend a bit of time researching what you are on about i am not going to spend time on this. I'm in Alexandria, VA and we've had a couple of weeks were we hit 90, but then the heat subsided and the humidity stayed. We've also experienced some low points during the summer like 60-70s that I haven't experience while living here. It's usually hot here during the summer. I'm not sure what you would call it-global climate changing, I guess. lol

If one takes into account the whole body of scientific evidence on climate change, one would find the earth is really in a period of global cooling. The problem is those in government who pick and choose which scientific studies to promote, the ones that further their own objectives to control a large portion of the international cash flow. I have long believed the idea of global warmint to be a bunch of hooey.

Exactly! That and national cash flow, the shutting down of businesses (and jobs) and capping/hiking the taxpayers expenses for energy and all other things!

This cooling trend has not made it's way down here to Florida. This has been the most miserable summer I've experienced since moving here. Although the weather patterns have kept the big storms away, our normal breezy weather has been absent all summer and the humidity has been high. I don't like 5mph, damp air.

It's hot and miserable in Florida this summer? Ban the sun, we can't have that! lol

that must have been so cold. i have never experienced in a snow. but i don't like cold weather as some people said that it is really cold. and yes, the weather are crazy isn't it. but thankfully, it does not get hot in my country as it used to be. specially in tropical country we wish for some cool wind instead of hot weather. we don't appreciate hot weather that much.

Hi ParaTed, well over here in Southern Greece we are definitely seeing some strange weather patterns which indicate the demise of two seasons leaving us with just summers and winters, not a good thought as the two seasons now out of fashion are the two best to live in. This summer was marked by the longest period of humidity known here, and last winter as the wettest. We go from hot to cold in one day with no gradual decrease in tempreture as previously. Some Greeks believe this is a thirty year cyclic pattern meaning it will correct itself by 2038 so something to look forward to. Personally I go along with global climate change.

People here attribute it all to global climate change also. The problem is, this isn't the only strange summer. This was the 7th coolest summer on record, but the "00s" or even the 90s weren't the coolest decade on record. The 1920s had the most "coolest" summers. What was causing "global climate change" then?

Yes, many believe it is just a cyclic thing. I also think it has a lot to do with the strange sun spot activity.
