I am really fascinated with the Chinese language. Its being complicated is what's making it more interesting to me because I love languages. I wanted to enrol for Mandarin Chinese as an elective during college but I wasn't able to because they always run out of slots. I manage to study it on my own tough because I really, really wanted to learn. I bought Chinese-English dictionaries and downloaded some more learning materials. But I think what helped me most are the Chinese songs and lyrics I collected. Whenever I had free time, I would listen to these songs and read the lyric translations. It became easy for me to read and recognize Chinese characters as I was memorizing the songs. It was really fun. I think if you really really like to do something, there's no way you wont succeed. But sadly, since I had no one to talk to in Chinese and I have gotten busier, I couldn't study it anymore and I am losing some of those I have memorized before. :(

Hi,calai618, I am agree with you study chinese by listening to the chinese song and also read the lyric. Don't worry about the losing of some words you memorised,at least you still remember some useful chinese words.
Also, I can teach you some easy chinese words.
Don't hesitate to ask me,but I don't want too difficult,haha^.^
