Hi Vingyan, Frankly speaking, I am not really a chocolate lover. I hardly eat chocolate, few times in a month I seldom stock up any chocolate at home too. Normally is my mother in law will buy chocolate at home, of course, I will have a bite too. My favourite brand for chocolate is Ferrero Rocher. They are good in quality and it won't be so hard although has been in fridge for quite sometime. My second favourite will be Cadbury. They are many varities available for Cadbury brand. I prefer the fruits & Nut type. Have you ever tried Bounty chocolate ?? I love this Chocolate, At first I bought it during my Australia holiday trip. I only bought a pack home and I fall in love with this chocolate after my first bite (coconut filling covered with milk/plain chocolate). Till now, I can't find it available at my place. I know I can get it in Singapore. Too bad I am not going to Singapore this December, so I have to resist my craving for Bounty Chocolate till my next trip to Singapore.

Hello Shia, I like Ferrero Rocher too. I like the hazel nut so much. Do you know that it is selling cheaper at Langkawi island, a duty free island in our country here. Once I go to Langkawi, I will sure buy the Ferrero Rocher in bulk! LOL. I never come across Bounty Chocolate. I will keep this name in my mind so happen if I go travel to Australia or Singapore, I will look out for it. Actually that is a few brand of chocolate that I like it so much, but I just could not remember the name. But once I was in the supermarket at Isetan, I can spot it out esily. I find that Isetan sell more kinds of chocolates than others store. Lately I have a new fond too. I am fancy in Patchi chocolate. It is much more expensive compare to Ferrero Rocher. And Patchi has all kinds of chocolate from dark chocolate to white chocolate, all kind of filling , nuts , waffle, coconut filling and many more.

hi again, yes, you can get Patchi at Mph, Mid Valley. But I normally buy Patchi at Parkson KLCC. I have another milk chocolate to share with you guys. It is daim!! The milk chocolates contain surprisingly crunchy almond caramel centre. It is in a bite size, so I can easily wallop a few piece in my mouth.

Am I the only "rear species" here....because I dislike chocolate. Maybe I do not have much sweet tooth, therefore chocolate would never in my shopping cart when I go for sundry shopping. When I was a teenager, I love eating Van Houten brand chocolate. For me, it is less sweetness compared with Cadbury. I will normally buy one bar of it and freeze it to real cold and let it melt inside the mouth. So far I only bought chocolate once as a gift. It was for my sister-in-law birthday. I have wrapped the chocolate nicely and it all goes well until my the birthday girl forgotten to store it in the fridge but left it on her car. It is so nice that you and your husband still celebrates Valentine's Day. This event never been celebrated by my husband, sigh! I have heard that we will crave for chocolate more during menstrual time. Is that true? But I never experience it.

Hello Shuet Yeng, Thanks for your response. I think you are special... because you don't like chocolate. So you are those person who don't like sweet food? For me, I don't like to eat chocolate that had been freeze. I like to keep chocolate in room temperature, so once the chocolate put in the mouth, it melts instantly. You should ask your hub to be more romantic, LOL. It is good for woman to celebrate Valentine's day, there we get additional gifts. But I don't like to go for what expensive gift or candle light dinner... A homecook dinner by my darling and a box of my favorite chocolate will make my day happy enough. Hope to see you again in my other discussions. Happy mylotting.

Hi Shuetyeng, I never see chili chocolate before. For me, I like chocolate with almonds or hazel nut. As long as the chocolate has my favorite nuts, then it will be my fancy. LAtely I am so into milk chocolate. My sister bought a box of Daim milk chocolate. The milk chocolates contain surprisingly crunchy almond caramel center. It is in a bite size, so I can easily wallop a few piece in my mouth. I admit this milk chocolate is kinda too sweet for me, but I still love it! Yeah, my hub likes cooking and I think he can cook better than me, LOL.

Hi VingYan, I think I am weird because I seldom know women that dislike chocolates. I would not hesitate to give a bite or two but would not finish the whole bar of chocolate by myself. Yes, I do not like sweet things at all and I guess my girl got the "gene" from me. She always asked me to buy sweets but she never eats it. I have a lot is sitting in my fridge now. VingYan, I must say you are really a big fan of chocolate, because I heard that chocolate will taste great when leave it in room temperature. Cold chocolate does not release its aroma as quickly as "warm" one. Anyway, may I know have you tasted any special or unique flavour chocolate before? My friend has sent me a chili chocolate. It is the most special type of chocolate that I have ever tasted. My husband always admit that he is not a romantic person. He does not love surprise and therefore I hardly had one from him. But I must say he really love me and he is a very responsible husband and daddy. So, that is enough for me. It is so nice that your husband even knows how to cook. So he could alternate the cooking job with you.

Hello Jane, Thanks for your response. Chocolate is good for us, you don;t worry about that, . But do remember it is no good to take any good food for too much . Share with you here a few good things on eating chocolate! Chocolate is high in flavonoids, which are compounds that protect plants from disease and damage. Eating chocolate will help people in the same way. Flavonoid-rich foods may help reduce inflammation in the arteries that lead to the heart. This will keep blood vessels open, protect your body against cancer, and raise good cholesterol levels. Chocolate is good for stress. This is thought to be so because chocolate contains valeric acid, which is a relaxant and tranquilliser. Also, the sugar in chocolate may reduce stress - sugar has been shown to have a calming and pain-relieving effect on babies and animals because sweet tastes activate the opiate-like substances in our brain. HAppy Mylotting!

Hi my fellow MyLoters,Chocolates.. The word drives me crazy. I am such a chocolate addict that I can't stay a single day without eating one. Guess should blame my sweet parents for making me such an addict. Actually can't blame them as it was there love that they treated me with so many different brands and varities of chocolates since I was a kid. Infact My GF is a much more chocolate freak than I am. She always has oxes of chocolates stored in her fridge. Chcolates are of many times Chocolates are of many varities. Here are a few of them: 1, Unsweetened Chocolate: Also known as bitter or baking chocolate, it could be called as chocolate in its purest form, composed only of ground cocoa beans. This chocolate can't be used for direct consumption and is used for cooking purpose along with sugar. 2, Dark chcolate: personally my favorite, this chocolate contains chocolate liqur, cocoa butter, vanilla, sugar and an emulsifier called as leicithin. Milk is not added to dark chocolates. 3, Couverture chocolate: This chocolate is used for bakers and confectioners and contains a lot of cocoa butter and chocolate liqur. 4, Candy coating chocolate: Known as confectionery coating chocolate, these are used for candy making as they have excellent melting and moulding properties. 5, Milk chocolates: Contains quite a high quantity of milk other than chocolate liqur and cocoa butter. My Favorite chocolate brands are hershey, Cadbury-schweppers, Lindt & sprungli lindor and ofcourse Toblerone . Though eating a lot of chocolates is unhealthy, eating chocolates in moderate quantity is quite beneficial to health: 1, Chocolate has a high level of phenolics which helps in lowering the risk of heart diseases 2, Chcolates are known for they being anti- depressants and an aphrodisiac. Though there are many more benefits of chcolates already known , still many more are still being researched by scientists. And let me end as my I am eating my Hershey's right now :)

Hi Besthope, It is always like this, food which is good for health are always not that good taste. I don't think I can accept dark chocolate, it is very bitter for me. I like milk chocolate too. I notice my kids have got my gene too. Both my kids love to eat chocolates. Do you think it is good for the kids to take chocolate? Normally I don't allow them to take too much of chocolate.

Age Matters .. - Watch What You Eat When Old ..
Let Me Ask You One Question .. How Old Are You .. It Really Doesn't Matter As Some People I Have Come Across Do Feast on Chocolates .. And the People I AM Talking About May Be In their Early 50's .. It Depends, Even I Like Chocolates, I Tend To Avoid them Unless I Am Sure I Can Clean My Teeth Sparkling White Once I Am Done With Them .. I Think Chocolates Will Never Die As A Habit If You Don't Bother About the Ill Effects You May Experience Later On In Life .. I Think It Is Better Avoided After You Are Old Enough .. Don't Ask Me When Are you Old Enough .. It Is Up to You To Think And Decide ..

I love chocolate too. In fact I love chocolate to go with coffee. Dark chocolate goes well with rich and creamy coffee. Somehow the taste blends into a heavenly mixture. I like chocolate with raisins, or chocolate with whole almond in it. Most of the time I choose Vanhouten chocolates. It is one of the most affordable chocolate, and not too sweet.

Hello Scheng, Thanks for your response. I never try chocolate with coffee. In fact I don't drink coffee at all. Maybe I will try this heavenly mixture like what you have mentioned. I like chocolate goes with whole almond too. And my second choice is chocolates with hazel nuts. I don't like chocolate with raisin and macademia nut.

i like to eat chocolates until i discovered i need to rush to the toilet if i had eaten a lot. sometimes i buy chocolates but if my husband buys for himself he'd find it missing in a couple of days. chocolates have health benefits. especiall the milk chocolate for it is more tolerable to some who have lactose intolerance like me (provided we don't eat a lot). the only health benefit of the dark chocolate i read about in layman's terms is it doesn't have that much calories...

OH, I like this discussion.. and I love chocolates.. Chocolates has also been my 'energy' food which I will take when I feel bad or not up to the mood.. I need the chocolates to help me boast up the mood and have better working energy. I love hazelnut too, therefore chocolates with hazelnut is my favourite.. the golden ball (if you know what I mean) is also one of my favourite chocolate.. I love to have dark chocolates too... sometimes, I find those chocolates in the market is not dark enough, I even do my own by melting those cooking chocolates and form round pieces myself.. In addition, I like to have fruit and nut chocolates too!

hello Cwong, Glad to hear that you are a chocolate lover like me. I like the 'golden ball chocolate' too! LOL. I don't like to freeze the chocolate especially Fererro Rocher. It is too hard for the chocolate and I love to keep them in room temperature. Once you put the whole thing in the mouth, it melts... The taste is heaven the feel is so good! But I don't know why, I don't shop for chocolate very often though I crave for it. Maybe it could be the price isn't cheap. Or I know my self well, a few bites of chocolate could not enough for me, I like to wallop more and more chocolate. Hence I got to control myself not to buy chocolate too often. Chocolate seems like a season food for me. I get to eat more chocolate on special events, like Valentines day, Christmas. Huh, you like dark and bitter chocolate! Melting those cooking chocolate just to eat not for cooking?

I love caramello by Cadbury. MMm.Just typing that in is making me crave it. I don't particularly like dark chocolate. I will eat a Dove dark chocolate if there's nothing else around. I also love milky way. Unfortunately, my obsession with choclate has caused some major cavities that I'm hoping to have filled to restart that tasteful adventure.
