i have read an article about the titanic and it says there that the titanic did not have enough lifeboats to cater all the passengers and this was because the management focused more on the carpet rather than on the lifeboats. it was written that the management spent hours and hours of choosing the right carpet for the rich passengers while only 15 minutes for the lifeboats because they were so confident that the boat will not sink. from that time on tragedy safety regulations was formulated to avoid accidents in the sea.

hi cute,
titanic is my favorite movie ever, no one can change it on my list..
it's the number one for me, and honestly i have been watching it
all over again, for 20-30 times already.. isn't it great? hahaha..
well i also agree on that, being careless is a stupid attitude for me..
and yes it can kill, and as what you have stated above..
there are thousands of people were killed on that tragic incident, and
i think the management will all be blame on it..
is it because they are looking or staring to jack and rose kissing that's why they did not notice the iceberg ahead and cause the accident??
what can you say so??
janebeth.

hahah well that can also be true. but the real reson why they did not see the ice bergs was when they used some new gadgets and they did not practice on how to use it or test if its in good condition and so when the incident happened they did not receive any signal from the gadget because maybe it malfunctioned. actually there was a near by boat but because of the said gadget they were not able to send signal to the near by boat.

You are right on that point...
Primarily the mild steel with which ship constructed becomes brittle and tears like a paper under very low temperatures in atlantic, this caused breakage of hull.
Also crew and passengers were panic, which made rescue operation difficult

Careless or over-confident? No way was the Titanic ever supposed to sink. There is a lesson in there for us all. "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong when you least expect it. Be prepared for the anything."

confidence rather over confidence leads to such tragedies,I think God thought that these people are careless enough and pretending that they are perfect and made this cool ship for the rich,so why not to teach them a lesson so that the management may understand their big mistakes.

When the movie first came out, I loved it and went to try to read all different accounts and information they had on the Titanic. The way the movie was protrayed with the love story of Rose and Jack was really powerful I thought. Another reason besides the carelessness and disregard for the lifeboat situation, there was a total class separation as shown with Jack as the Irish poor and Rose as the upper class. The first wave of lifeboats that launched from the Titanic weren't even full because they were still trying to separate the social classes of people. Many of the poor didn't even realize how damaged the Titanic was until it sank.

Ya you are right. The people who built titanic were so confident that no sort of accident would be a problem to titanic and were so overwhelmed by the size and its beauty that they forgot the safety precautions and mainly concentrated on cashing but unfortunately nature had its own plans for titanic..
That is why it is always said no one can what will happen in the future..
