What is your favorite name for a girl and for a boy and why?

I think the question is pretty straight-forward. I just want to know what your favorite names are and why they are your favorites or where you first heard them, what makes you like them, etc.
A friend and I were discussing our favorite names and while I could come up with endless female names that I absolutely adored, I couldn't think of a single boy name that really, really stuck out to me! I'm dying to hear some really unique and/or great names.

Hurm...well, my favorite girl's name is Katherine...I think because in Pride & Prejudice they shortened it to Kitty...Dunno, I just kinda like that name. Would probably name my daughter (if I had one) that. Might call her Kitty, might call her Kat...I just like the name.
And my favorite boy's name has got to be Tristan. I know it doesn't have the greatest meaning in the world (sad), but it's such a nice sounding name. I'd just be a little hesitant before naming my child that because, as some people say, your destiny is in your name and I damn well don't want my son to be sad!!

Hi, raineyes!
I have several favorite girl and boy names. For girls I like Isabella, Emma, Natalie, and Arianna. I like these names so much because they are so pretty and feminine.
For boys names I always liked the name Matthew. Other names I like are Jesse, Peter, Joshua, and Robert.
Although I don't think any of my favorite names are unique, I think they're pretty nice.
