In these trying times most of us are cutting down expenses especially for us working class bracket. However in some areas or instances we still have the ability to purchase something big like a vehicle. It doesn't matter if its paid or terms. Some people make a way to secure an automobile just to make life easier. What about you? Do you own a car?

hello mchavez11,
yes indeed i do have a car. i bought it march 2007. it's a toyota avanza with 7 seaters, automatic and brand new. our kids were so happy when we brought it home. for they were having a hard time everytime we're going to the province and visit our families and relatives there.
now we can go and visit them anytime, and much comfortable.

I don't have a car, and i ride bike to go to work everyday. I don't buy a car not because the economic crisis, but my salary is too low. if i want to buy a car, i will buy house first, and a house can give my girlfriend a warm place to live. i hope i can buy a house in 6 years.

I have a car which I used for my transportation to the office. However, when the costs of fuel increased I stopped using the car. Using it only gobbled my daily budget for food and other necessities. As of the moment I'm taking public transportation which is more cheaper and economical for me. I save a lot from taking rides in public transpo system. My car right now is safe in my home with no worries for maintenance costs and the rising fuel rate.

my husband and I are both legally bind, so we don't drive, and we don't own a car. We live in a city with a wonderful public transportation service.

Yes, I do own a car. It is a very nice car, a mid-sized, 4-wheel drive car. I agree with you. It is getting quite expensive driving a car, with the gas prices rising all the time over the past year. In fact, I am using the public transport, buses and trains, more often these days. I use my car only to get to places where the public trasport is not available. That way, I can try to cut down the travel expenses.

My car is anything but new; so the economy and recession have absolutely nothing to do with it, actually. I have a '94 Saturn SL1. It cost roughly around $1400 to buy, and I bought it about 1 year ago. I'm really honestly not in the position to buy a new car or even ANY used car whatsoever - I just need one that gets me from POINT A to POINT B. My main concerns are getting to school and to work without having my car stall, or without having to use public transportation (taking the bus - I hate it!) or having to bum rides off my family members (as this gets annoying). I don't mind paying maintenance costs, gas, and insurance..To me, it's worth every penny. Driving is so much more convenient than relying on others or relying on the sometimes-iffy public transportation.

I do not own a car and i am happy as I am not spending much money on it too. When I take the bus to get to work I can see many cars on the road and then the buses always get the priority to move ahead so those traveling in buses reach work and back to home very earlier than those in the traffic jam like the cars.

Yes, I own a car and my husband has one to get back home from work. Both of our cars were used when we brought them and are now pay off. With the economy the way it is I do not need to have another bill to pay.

I have a car, courtesy of my husband. We live in the suburbs which is not covered by the public transport system. It is a bit expensive to maintain 2 cars what with the insurance, fuel and maintenance costs (servicing, mainly). However, I find it very convenient to do grocery shopping (I can't possibly buy even a 3 day food/drink supply and lug them in the bus), errands and bringing kids to and from school. Practical but it costs money.

I do own a car. I didn't buy it actually. It's just a graduation gift from my mom. I don't really like the idea of having a car as a gift but since my mom insisted I chose to accept it anyway. It was already 3 years old and I must say I'm really taking care of it. Not because it was something valuable in terms of price but because of the fact that it was from my mom.
