i wouldn't say should's should stay away from computers, because nowadays you need computer for everything, professor upload notes, and homework online, school require you to check your emails constantly. so you need to use it. but a student responsible enough to know when computer is distracting them. i personally deactivated my facebook account for this semester, because it was taking up a lot of my time. now i have plenty of time to do my homework and i'm not wasting time on facebook.

I don't think students should stay away from computer & they should learn to manage both the things. If it's for studies, I think a better option would be to stay in a room which have only a bed, table & chair along with your study material & a student should not come out of the room ever! & I know the best place, it's an isolation cell in a jail. So We should enjoy each & everything in life & meanwhile should learn to keep a balance between studies & entertainment. I was someone who watched movie in the eve of my final exams for high school graduation. But still I passed with good marks & now I have a not so bad job. the same was the situation in my college also because I never kept my likings & entertainment aside for studies & carried them both together. According to me, you should enjoy everything but keep a limit to entertainment & hence you will learn to live a good life rather than being a book worm. Happy Lotting

i think that students should use computers in the right way. i mean that they mustn't waste their time doing stupid and useless things, but use it to make searches about topics they study during the mornign at school.

I`m a student too , and i don`t think that we should get rid of our computer , just when we are in session , but not even then , because i have some classes in electronic format, so i really need it . It`s easier for me to read directly form pc than to print them to read all thouse from papers .I read the hole document, and i just take the main ideas and i write them on paper . But , i will not get rid of my computer . This it`s so important for me. I couldn`t do that .

My computer's really not enough of a distraction anymore for me to think I need to get rid of it. There was a time when I would spend all day on the computer playing games, but I've quit playing online games since then. I decided that playing games was one big waste of time. These days if I find the computer distracting I shut it off and try to concentrate on my studies. If your computer is getting in the way of your study time, you might try going on a computer fast. Shut the computer off for a week, and do things other than work on the computer.

I would not get rid of my computer it can be very useful for studying if use the right way. But the computer should not come first a students need to do their studies and the computer can give them information if use for the right things. You can search the net for information for a term paper and there are website that can help you with different subject if you are having problem with a certain subject. You need to priorties what you do on the computer for both studying and having some entertainment.
