Smart kitty! My cats, honestly, will eat ANYTHING, so we get them the best food we can afford. We do the feed them Purina One, preferably the hairball, but last week we could only find one bag, so I got one adult formula and a urinary tract one...

Hi Elicbxn Your cat will eat anything? I guess he's not as fussy as most cats Purina is a popular bran I get the hairball control for Jinx as well we had him for a year and a half now and he has yet to cough up one hairball thank goodness because those things are nasty looking . Its gross to see them cough it up and its even more gross to see it plop on the floor

cats - as in 29 cats - yes, they will eat just about anything, including anything they can steal - and its not like we don't leave food out for them... they just don't want to miss out on any thing the others might find... we have a lot fewer hairballs because we do feed them the hairball formula, but we do have a few long haired cats and they are even more prone to the hairballs than the short haired ones...

It's so funny when our animals do that! And really, we can't blame them because we do the same thing. Our cat doesn't seem to be a finicky eater. He eats most of the foods we put in front of him. He even catches himself giant water bugs or flies and eats them so, doesn't sound like he's picky to me.

Hi Horsesrule LOL you got that right! My cat eats bugs flies you name it if he can catch it he will most likely eat it so I guess they aren't all that finicky after all. We as humans can be very picky eaters ourselves I know my kids were finicky at times especially my daughter

My cat is not particularly fond of generic or low grade cat food and usually will not eat it. I don't think it is good for them so i don't care about that, however just regular name brand cat food he will eat and doesn't seem to have a problem with. I like the fact that my cat will eat many varietis of food, but not to upset his system I usually tend to buy him the same types of stuff.

Hi Snowy223 Yes I agree with you my cat only eats Science Diet and I figure why change it now since he's been eating it from day one

yeah. my cat is the same way. cats can be snotty. if my cat doesnt like something i feed him, he will smell it and give me a dirty look, like as if to say, "you eat it!" he also gives me that sarcastic garfield face. although my cat was adopted in dec 07, he already had his specific food that he likes to eat. he only likes fancy feast can food and holistic dry food from trader joes. anything else i give him, he will refuse to eat it. my late cat was the same way. come to think of it, so were my late shihtzus. although dogs are more laidback and easygoing, and they will eat mostly anything, they also had their picky moments. they refused to eat some dog food also. they would smell it and give me a dirty look.

Cats are like that aren’t they? If they don’t like something they would rather starve than take a chunk of the stuff. I have two cats and one loves her Whiskas although not all flavours mind you! The other is quite ill so he is on a prescription diet which costs me $20 a week for him alone, but he’s 13 and worth it, besides we don’t know the extent of his illness yet and how serious it is so I am enjoying him and spoiling him as much as I can.

My 2 cats are a bit spoiled when possible. They like variety and they certainly do not like cheap brand cat food. Nor will they tolerate any other brand but Starkist tuna. I mainly give them food with hairball control in the formula. Purina makes a great dry food for everyday feeding.

My cats also have their favorite foods; but, I don't have to worry about "buying" food they like or don't like. Since the BIG pet food recall a couple of years ago, I have been making my cat's food from scratch at home. Both my cats like fish based cat food, they will eat chicken "if they have to", and one of them loves beef while the other sticks his nose up at beef. So, I just give my "beef eater" his favorite on special occasions. They even have preferences about which type of fish is in the food. I had considered going back to "store bought" cat food since the big recall has been over for quite a while; but, I did some quick research and found out that since then (in the last 24 months) there have been SEVEN more recalls of pet food (both dog and cat food) for everything from melamine to e-coli. So, I will just have to keep making them their favorite cat foods.

My cat has always been a picky eater. Most of our cats love table food but my cat usually turns up her nose at table food. My cat doesn't really eat anything other than Meow Mix cat food. Anything else makes her sniff at her food and walk away refusing to eat. So I make sure to give her plenty of Meow Mix dry food. She's not always so pickey with soft food but sometimes she can be. Usually she only really likes 9 Lives soft food.

I have two very fussy, pampered kitties and yes, they do the exact same thing as your Jinx if heaven forbid I don't get their favorite wet canned food which is Fancy Feast. They also seem to turn up their noses if I get cheaper brands of dry food, and only like brands like Purina One of Purina Naturals.

This is an interestign question because I have never thought about what my cat will like more. I don't have a cat at my place, but my parents have a cat. I spent time with the cat when I go to parents house. I don't think my parents or anybody at home takes special care of cat's food. We give the cat whatever we eat and if buy fish, we leave some amount of fish for the cat.

Hi, Cherryd41! My kitty is very picky when it comes to cat food. As far as canned food goes, she only eats Fancy Feast. I've tried other brands and she just turns her nose up at them. She's not a big fan of dried food but she seems to like the Fancy Feast dried food. She's an older cat (almost 17) and I've noticed that she's gotten more finicky about her food through the years.

luckily,my cat will not concern about the brand of cat food. But there is another problem. When she was young,my mom made food personally for her, such as pork liver cooked with rice. She liked it very much. However, once she was fed with brand food ,she rejected any food made by my mom. By the way, does your cat drink milk?
